You're very welcome, Boden. Thanks for dropping in.

"Oh man, have you been to 145.16.12.52 yet?"
This is the punk dilemma. In order to be authentic, a movement has to be small and only available to the people willing to put the most effort into being part of that movement.
As long as a movement is "authentic," it has a very difficult time being *effective*.
Yep, that's the trade-off. The trick as I see it is to keep the nodes small but connected and redundant so it's not worth the effort of squishing them.
Exactly. It has to be like a blob, or a borg, or even a virus. Destroying one node, or even hundreds of nodes, must not be able to destroy the network.
Ironically, if the pigopolist practices of FacebookTwitterGoogle result in a sidenet coming into existence, they will have planted the seeds to their own destruction.
And destroying a cluster of nodes should cause a virulent response, where multiplication of replacement nodes accelerates. The more they fight it - the bigger it should become.
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I think ActivityPub is the one that looks likely to take hold and go semi-mainstream. I'll be writing some code :)
It's time for me to renew my domain names. I'm thinking about moving them to Epik. The far-left propaganda site Wikipedia describes them as a registrar known for permitting far-right white supremacist sites, which I am interpreting as meaning they don't cave in to SJW's when they get all butthurt and try to get someone's domain canceled.
You are not moving them, it was foolish to make such a comment.

What?
Oh. I missed Ig's comment.
Who was I?
Of course the IP address is probably the same.

I could go comb the IP addresses in the Syslog... but I'm too lazy to do something like that. There is probably a fancy way to GREP the results from the command line too... but my Linux skills with Grep have always been for shit. :D
I'm not sure what that bit of chatter was about but I did move my domains to Epik. What I suspected was true: they're simply a registrar who refuses to cave to Cancel Culture, and because of this, they get the usual treatment from the usual suspects. Wikipinko says that they are "known for supporting hate sites and neo-nazis and far right conspiracy sites" etc. etc.
Reading that, it sounded ominous and threatening and directed at you. Not sure what that shit was about.
Evidently nothing happened because of your foolish move. But I'm not sure who that poster was directing their comment at, anyhow.
Maybe I can trigger a repeat. Maybe I'll move my registrar to the same one you're using, IG. It sounds like a safe haven.
Tue Nov 17 2020 17:21:03 MST from IGnatius T FoobarTotally worth it. They are known as THE registrar you go to when you don't want SJW's going after your domain registration.
One thing at a time for me. I already moved to your ISP, and that was a brillian't move, so I know you give good advice. :)

The apostrophe "brillian't" was me having a Sleepy Joe B moment. Not sure what that was about.
