Subject: Update 11: At the crossroads · UNITHOR - A Brand New Joystick For Retro Computers
I remember playing populous and powermonger against friends online. I have a PiMiga3 and an amiga1200 next to each other - is it possible to get this going between the two machines? Damn that would be so badass.

If you're into the sound of the Amiga (and other machines of the early 1990s), and stuff like trackers and the demo scene I recently wrote this article: https://gamersnotallowed.com/video-game-audio-108-rise-of-16-bit-machines-in-the-1990s/

I'll admit I never owned an Amiga, but it was interesting to watch. But everyone just blamed the marketing team for the eventual failure? Seems more like just a larger strategic failure to compete against the overwhelming Windows juggernaut starting in the early 90s?
Also one guy mentioned in passing that the company spent a ton of money on air freight shipments. I would have liked to hear more about operational problems like that, but maybe too boring for a documentary...

Subject: I did the most unprofessional review possible of the pistorm32, here it is!
Got the bug to once again try an reincarnate the Amiga. One of the items which I used until the dying day of the 1084 monitor was an Emplant board for it's MAC emulation. One of the things that I have been looking at is that the Emplant board had an "auto-boot" socket and space for N x 8 Static Ram modules. The hardware book for the Emplant had said that the idea of this was for autobooting the SCSI or a RAM drive when the option became available. Question is, was this option ever made available, the creation of a RAM drive via the Emplant using those sockets?

Subject: Penn and Teller, Wil Wheaton, and Tony Hawk - selling you a video toaster
The ONLY limit is your imagination (link to 1990 toaster promo video)
The video toaster that was out for both windoze and Amiga, the toaster 4000, has one of the coolest most nostalgic commercials you'll see today.
Fun story:
Back in 1990, when the toaster first came out, I went to the CES show in Chicago. Being only 15 at the time, I was blown away.
While there, I saw Penn and Teller at a booth selling the toaster.
I was introduced to both Penn and Teller AND the video toaster on the same day. I was blown away. I bought the capture device that digitizes color photos in HAM format as well as DigiPaint. I loved both.
Penn and Teller were getting popular at the time, and they were also pushing their movie, Penn and Teller Get Killed. Rented that on VHS that weekend.
