I assume that here are some people who use the MiSTer FPGA. I'm considering buying one, but I'm wondering where the limits are here?

1. What would be the maximum possible specifications of an emulated Amiga (CPU, Chip RAM, Fast RAM, RTG possible or not, ...).

2. Can I somehow get into the network with it to surf Aminet with IBrowse?

3. What is possible and what is not? Are there any big limitations or known compatibility issues?

I have Amiga 500 rev 6a with 512 KB chip and 512 KB slow ram, kickstart 1.3. I am using SDBox parallel port "harddisk" with it. I like to keep my Amiga as compatible as possible for older games.

With SDBox drivers and ffs filesystem driver for my sdbox harddisk, I can get at most 907 kB free ram (minimal boot with small ffs harddisk partition) and it is not enough for some games, for example Black Crypt and Syndicate.

Now, question is which one is more compatible memory addon regarding old games and such:

- 2 MB chip&slow memory expansion (=>1 MB chip and ~1,5 MB slow)

If I have 1 MB chip ram, does it cause problems with games which expect 512 KB chip + 512 KB slow? I would have slow memory in same address anyway?

If I have 8 MB fast ram, does it cause problems on games which expect 512 KB chip + 512 KB slow? I know that real fast ram would benefit apps a lot, but how about games?

What languages outside of BASIC flavours, C, C++ and assembly are possible to use on the Amiga?

Is there any modern language compilers available, for example, Go or Rust or DotNet?

Hi everyone, it's been a while. I got a crazy idea (nothing new), is it possible to connect a PC to a 1084S? I don't have a specific reason why I want to do that, I just want to see how would my PC act on that kind of a monitor. I assume that I will need some sort of a DB9 to HDMI converter...

Just wondering what the import duty was on one? I sold my standalone a long time ago with the full intention to buy one for my A1200 when they finally released it, and now they have, I'm not sure I want to spend that much :D

I have a fully tricked out GB-A1000 (060@100Mhz + RTC) but was thinking of selling that and going with the Icedrake. I know some people will consider me mad for even thinking about it, but space is an issue here and I don't have room for 4 Amigas since moving to a smaller house.

Also, non-UK related - does all video output get redirected to the HDMI, or would I need 2 monitor cables, one for games / demos and one for the RTC output?

My A500 Mini was working great until I updated it using the A500 Retro Games support page directions.

After the update the system boots fine, I can navigate the full UI but when I launch games they launch and a black screen displays for a split second before going back to the main dashboard.

I've contacted Retro Games support and after two weeks have not heard back, nothing via their Twitter feed.

Has anyone else had the same problem or have a solution which doesn't require a hammer?

I have an A500+ with 2MB, midi, samplers and scanner, video grabber/genlock that I got for it back in the 90s. These days, I use it for music (octamed synced to ableton and modular synths) and retro video effects (linked to touchdesigner and modular video synths).

The vampire, ice and other processor boosts people have made look great. But I can’t think what the use case for them is? What do you folks who have them use them for? What are they going to let me do with music or video that I can’t already?
