Subject: Warranty seal intact: should I brake it?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hello lovely people. I got my first Amiga500 and I was lucky to get a unit with the warranty seal still intact. The unit is in working condition but it needs a good clean. I want to open it to check inside and give the shell and buttons a good clean.

Apparently though, the seal increase the value of the unit and some users here suggested to don't brake it. Now, I personally prefer to have a clean unit and make sure everything inside is in good condition, but I'm open to suggestions if the seal is a very big deal. I've done refurb on retro consoles/handhelds but I'm new on vintage computers. Thanks!

Subject: The Faery Tale Adventure Amiga 1000?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Is there a way I could get the original Amiga version not the Sega version to play on a hand held. Would I need like a Valve steam deck or would I need to build something using raspberry pie. It was my favorite game growing up and the online emulator versions really suck. Thanks for any help. P.S. I had an Amiga 1000 growing up and it was awesome.

9-pin mouse/joystick for CDTV

Now my CDTV is working. I would like to use 9-pin mouse/joystick. What is the recommended solution?

Subject: What benefit do I have with a TF1230 over just a ram expansion card?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I mainly play some games on my 1200 and like to watch the odd demo (and certainly not ready to get rid of a kidney yet for a 060). What benefit would I have with a TF1230 over a just a 8mb ram card, aside from seemingly far better value for money?

Subject: MOD Music: Any GM-style 8-bit sampled assets out there?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Examples of what I'm looking for:

GM_00.XI This .xi features a PCM sampled 8-bit grand piano sound

or

GM.MOD This mod file has instrument channels from grand piano up to drum kits, or a subset of those

Looking to stick toward Amiga MOD-sounding sampled sound and not so much chiptunes. Using various tracking software like Milky, Renoise, etc.

I can rip from various sources and make my own but thought I'd ask if somebody has taken the GM/MIDI style approach of putting this together already. Thanks for any tips.
