Subject: We were an Amiga family
My A500 Mini has me going down memory lane. I always hear about how Commodore was unpopular in America but we were an Amiga family. Back in late 1989 we were still all sharing an Apple IIc. One night we went out to dinner in my hometown, a suburb of Chicago. In a strip mall next to our favorite Mexican restaurant was a new store, Ring Software. They were an Amiga store with a bunch of computers on display running games like Shadow of the Beast & It Came from the Desert as well as productivity software like Deluxe Paint. The sales people were great and very knowledgeable, and we were blown away. That Christmas I got my first computer, an A500 and my dad got a 2000 with the DOS bridge for himself and my mother. Sadly all good things come to an end. I'm not sure exactly when Ring Software closed up but they lasted awhile, I remember checking out later computers like the 600 1200 and 4000. My dad needed a more powerful computer so he traded in his 2000 for a 386DX/33 in 92. I held on awhile longer but when I graduated HS in 94 I got a 486SX. I never gave up on Amiga tho and I currently have a 1200 with an 8MB expansion and just got the 500 Mini.
Subject: Where to start with an Amiga hoard
I’ve come into possession of 7 Amiga (500s and 1200s some working, some not) from clearing out my In-law’s attic as they’re moving house. Not to mention all the peripherals you could ever need but a ton of games, and I literally mean a ton, if not more. Sometimes the same boxed game 2 or 3 times over.
My FIL rescued most of it from skips when people where chucking them away. Not knowing how much of a hoard he would eventually amass.
So, I’ve been assigned the task of cataloging and selling it for them but not being into Amiga myself (was more Commodore 64) where do i start with all this and where the best places to get prices etc.
Any help of what to look for, rare titles etc. would be fab.

Subject: Amiga Stories
Following on from another post about the popularity of the Amiga in the UK and some parts of Europe to the humble success in the states, I'd really like to hear some stories of what people remember of the Amiga in territories such as Asia, Africa and South America. So if anyone is from one of those territories please share your story of whether you owned one, wanted one, didn't even know it existed, how well it was market etc. Would be great to see your perspective!

Subject: I’ve bought a Classic 520 and OS 3.2. What now?
I have an A500 rev 6.a fitted with a gotek. Initially I wanted to play with a new version of the OS I used as a kid, now I want to use it in anger and am looking for projects. I’d love to get the communities thoughts, and have kept this question open ended on purpose.
Subject: National Museum of Computing Bletchley
I got to visit the museum over the last weekend. It's a very interesting place to visit, so would fully recommend it to all. You'll do it in about three hours or so, great talks on the BOMBE and Enigma and valve computing.
There is a display for 80s/90s computing and lo and behold there is a badgeless Amiga 500 in the display.
Sadly, it's only running Bart Vs The Space Mutants which I thought was a crying shame. In my view, probably one of the worst games ever made for the Amiga line and far far too tough. Alas, most of the people trying out these vintages were ignoring the Amiga for that reason. I have thought about popping up with a copy of Alien Breed and talking them into using that instead.
The Atari had Rick Dangerous which was great but really hard. And I did notice that the C64 is actually an emulator in a breadbin; I caught a glimpse of someone hitting a keypress by accident and the UI offering to reveal a virtual keyboard. I guess having to load up the game every day via tape would have been too much. It was nice to see all zipsticks and quickshots on the machines though.
I was guiding my friend's daughter through trying out a programming in BASIC thing they had set up on the BBC Micro. And silly me, I had totally forgotten that the BBC Micro won't understand the PRINT command if it's in lower case... oops. The guy there came and did some quick edits to make it work for her though.
There was also a couple of working console and arcades. We had a good go at Simpsons Pinball machine and some time on a Megadrive running Sonic - which was a lot slower than I remembered. Ah, memories. Oh and of course the obligatory PC running Doom.
All in all, a great experience! (Just don't mention the Imitation Game movie...)
The museum is in Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes UK. And I fully recommend it.
Subject: I found my Amiga version of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade again. I am not sure if it is complete. But it looks like it is. It's nice to see what was included in the game and the booklet looks very interesting. I have to play this again.

Subject: Amiga Mini into LG 4k monitor
This is baffling me! Any idea how to get the HDMI output from the Amiga mini into USB-C/thunderbolt input on an LG ultra fine monitor?
Tried a basic hdmi to usbc-3 adapter but didn’t work.
