Subject: roc gen plus rgc310c not showing color.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi there,

Having an issue using a roc gen plus genlock. It won’t output color when connected to the a500. When i input just video through it it will be in color but not when the amiga rgb is connected to it.

When i switch to a mimetics amigen genlock it works fine and I get color so it doesn’t appear to be an issue with the a500.

Is there any way to fix? Seems like a hardware issue.

Subject: Amiga Keyboard Case

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi,

I just so happen to have a spare Amiga 500 keyboard lying around and i wonder if there is a case for only the keyboard.. you know what i mean. A Case in which i can put the keyboard only and then use it as an external keyboard for i. e. my PC.

I've already found an adapter but I'm not sure if it'd be fancy having the bare amiga keyboard lying on my desk with the adapter and cables dangling off of it.

Subject: Event in Germany: Amiga 37 Germany in october 2022

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

On October 16th and 17th 2022 the Amiga 37 Germany event will take place in Mönchengladbach-Wickrath (Germany)!

The 37 stands for the 37th birthday of the Amiga. Originally it was the Amiga 30 Germany in 2015 for the 30th birthday. But because the event was so well received, it was continued in 2017 and 2019 with Amiga 32 and Amiga 34. And now in 2022 the Amiga 37.

There is a website for the event and tickets are still available. Unfortunately the website is currently only localized in German. The ticket store however is in English. But if that doesn't scare you off - this way:
-> https://amigaevent.de/

Tickets are available directly here. There are tickets for Saturday, Sunday or for both days. Additionally there are tickets for "Setpatch Party" on saturday evening in a club:
-> https://amigaevent.de/ticket

Below is some info about the event and the Setpatch Party:

Amiga 37 Germany Event
"Our idea / our show

Dear exhibitors, dear guests,
the AmigaXX in Neuss has established itself as the Amiga event in a very short time!

While in 2015 the round birthday of Commodore's successful computer was still in the foreground, the number behind the Amiga name has now become secondary. The entire Amiga and retro community has embraced the project so well that they have embraced the event and are responsible for its success.

Due to the long break in terms of meetings, exchanges and other events, the announcement of the Amiga37 alone caused great interest in a short time - it did not take long for the date to be entered in the notebooks of numerous Amiga fans and that, although not a single guest or exhibitor has been announced yet.

This confirms that in 2015 we launched an event that brings together people with common interests and is simply fun - and justifies the effort!

Many people who have attended at least one of the previous events are happy to come back, just as many who have not yet had the opportunity to visit are looking forward to the first participation!

The same applies to our VIP: While it was still questionable for us during the planning for the Amiga30 who we would be able to win for our small celebration in Neuss, numerous guests from the Amiga era have now visited the AmigaXX - and gladly once again!"

(... read on):
https://amigaevent.de/Amiga37/event.en.html

The Setpatch Party:

Ticket to the Setpatch 2022 party at Projekt 42 in Mönchengladbach's old town. The party starts at 10 pm and ends at 3 am. With live performances by the band Fastloaders and Chris Hülsbeck, among others.

Subject: A500 - Browsing in Gotek browser slows down after scrolling through 1st 600 files in a folder. (TOSEC Archive)

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

disclaimer -I am new to ADF files and Gotek. When browsing the TOSEC archive on a USB key in my Gotek, the file browser slows right down after passing the first 600 adf files. It will take about 30 seconds to display each file name after that point. I have tried a number of USB drives. Is this normal? Is 600 just too many files in 1 folder? The TOSEC archive contains many versions of the same game which for me is unnecessary. Thanks!

Anyone know of any BIOSs for Amiberry?

I have found a few but I can't find any that are in any of the formats for the Amiga 500(pictured). Other formats don't let me add them into the folder when I've connected to my Pi vi network. Does anyone know of any BIOSes?

Subject: Amiga 1000

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey There, My dad has an original Amiga 1000 that he is looking to sell. It’s got signatures inside from all the designers as well as a dog print.

Was wondering if anyone can tell me what it’s worth and best way to sell it? I see on eBay it’s going for like $1500ish, but didn’t know if this specific one he has is worth more since it seems like it’s gen 1.

Any/all help is appreciated.

Thanks

Just wondering if any of you redditors are anywhere near me? Am sure there are lots of mif heads round here but maybe I'll have to finally join EAB or start using Facebook again to find them!

For what it's worth, I'm in Halifax. I'd love to connect with someone or people locally who have a clue wtf they're doing 😂

Subject: Value of Amiga 1000 in the UK?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Does anyone know what an Amiga 1000 may be worth in the UK? I've owned it for 25 years and it's fully working, with both a front memory module and an internal Spirit expansion board (giving a total of 512K chip RAM and 1M fast RAM). It would include the original mouse, keyboard, and WB and KS 1.3 disks, but no monitor.

Obviously I could just create an ebay auction and see what happens, but it may be better to advertise it on an Amiga-specific forum or Facebook group. But I really don't know what price to put on it.
