Not sure how best to describe that ^
But wondering if there's any word on a full-size version of the A500mini? Seems like there's a bit of interest in Mini so it'd be pretty cool to get a 1:1 version with working keyboard.

Subject: Old game ROM files & general settings still showing in WinUAE (even after fresh install)
Strange issue with WinUAE if anyone could kindly give me some advice?
I can't seem to do a clean install of WinUAE. I've deleted all WinUAE folders in C: and reinstalled and yet it still shows game ROM files I no longer have and always reverts back to old settings.
Where are WinUAE's hidden files? I just can't figure out what's going on here.
Thanks!

Subject: Does anyone have a source of amiga 1200 keyboard stem?
hi! A key stem (left Amiga) broke on my 1200. The keycap is fine, the key press itself is fine.
Does anyone have a source of second hand key stems that I could snag a couple of?
thancc!

I was a fervent Amiga user back in its day, with a 2000 and then a 1200 on the NTSC side of the pond. I remember a whole lot about these machines but one thing I don't remember is any kind of alert / notification sounds. You know, like the little "boop" sound that a Mac would make to get your attention.
Did the Amiga have any notification sounds at all? In Workbench? In applications? Maybe a shareware package? Besides the amazing music and the tic-tic-tic of the drives, what are the iconic Amiga sounds?

Saving a game, in for instance Space Quest results in a "disk error" or other error message and the game, obviously not being saved. It's like that with all games I have tested so far, Ports of Call, The Pawn, Monkey Island, Zork - it doesn't matter what game, same error every time.
The computer can write to the CF-card just fine and in fact, highscore saves perfectly, settings save without a hitch, everything works flawlessly except specifically saving a game in progress. Also trying to load a (non-existent since I can't save one) game sometimes results in the computer Guruing, so something is clearly up with the save/load game mechanic.
It's a standard 3.1 Workbench/ROM installation with an ACA500+ with latest WHDLoad from the original website.

Subject: Maniac Mansion for the Amiga. That was the second Lucasfilm game I bought for my A500. Loved the teenager movie mood. The video's got unboxing, review and versions' comparison.
I got the Amiga 500 mini and installed the WHDload on a USB drives. For several games, it works. For most, however, when I start the game, an Amiga 500 screen pops up, it tries to load something, and then the screen goes black.
All files I use are .lha files, from the Amiga_WHD_Games directory listing. Does anyone know how to make the games work or have a different game source to download from?

Subject: How to fix wrong colours from some WHD games on an A1200?
![]() | Hello, I've got an A1200 with an '030 connected to a LCD TV with a Scart cable. Some games and all Workbench utils etc.. all look perfect, but the odd game has very incorrect colours. I've attached a photo of James Pond 2 to demonstrait. I've tried the same game images on UAE, and they work just fine - so guessing something up with my setup. Any suggestions about what it might be and what I could possibly do about it (if anything)? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
So do some people already have one? The U.S. amazon page says May 31st. Is this accurate, or is it a placeholder?

I’ve noticed that some WHD-games have excellent/original speed in the gameplay sections but the intros, cutscenes and start screens run in one billion FPS, give and take. Is there any way to adress this? Examples are Moonstone, North and South and Space Crusade

Subject: Has anyone tested if a USB hub works with the A500 Mini?
If you use your own USB drive with the mini, but also want to use a keyboard, it means that you either give up the mouse or the gamepad.
The gamepad is something you’ll want to keep plugged in all the time anyway to be able to get to the Home Screen/options menu, which is a problem if you’re using the keyboard and mouse with your own software (for example GUI programs that also need keyboard input/Workbench etc).
What you’d really need is one more USB port, so my question is if anyone has tested a powered USB hub or a keyboard that has an extra port on the side?

Hoping someone more knowledgeable than me knows how this works!…
Looking to play a game on the Amiga 500 Mini that doesn’t show on WHDLoad. The only version I can find for the game is .adf file format. (3x disks). I understand this wouldn’t be recognised on a USB plugged into the Mini.
Is there a way to add those to an .lha archive myself, or somehow get WHDLoad to recognise this game?
To be more exact in case anybody plays this game I am referring to Championship Manager ‘93. From the limited results on Google some guy said “there’s no need as this game used to install straight to the hard drive”. I’ve no idea what he really meant by that or how that could possibly help me in this scenario though. Thanks!
