Subject: Our editor Don Rafito and his stuff ๐๐น๏ธ๐พ๐น๏ธ https://ka-plus.pl/en/
Hello everyone. My dad recently found his old Amiga3000 with some renders on it. He believes that they are .iff formats. If anyone knows a detailed guide or can give any help or any little tip for transferring/copying them to a safer storage (not the amiga's one, cause its pretty old and files might go lost) I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot in advance to everyone who helps me in every way :)
Update
I considered to use floppies. Maybe thats the easiest way?

Subject: Is there a site that has the covers/labels for the cover disks/cover cd from the old magazines?
I was able to find plenty of cd and floppy images from old magazines (and the magazines itself); but seems that nobody bothered to scan the actual labels for the floppy disks nor the cd covers/inlay for the CDs.
Does anyone know a site where I can find those? I am mainly looking for Amiga Format and CU amiga labels/covers; since I would like to preserve not only the CDs and ADF files but also their original labels and content

So more in the adventures in your local idiot's attempt at trying to program in C for his A500.
Quick side note, I didn't finally get SAS 6.58 running and it's.....ok but I hit some issues with that i just don't want to deal with.
I got bebbo's Amiga GCC compiler installs on Ubuntu for windows like in Wei-Ju's guide. Now i don't know what to do.
I thought I'd try setting up my VSCode to work with WSL by following Microsoft's guide on getting C/C++ working with WSL and while technically it works, as in it builds a simple HelloWorld I don't think it's using the amiga parts of GCC to compile it since it cannot find any of the specific amiga headers like exec.h.
And when I try the command I see on Wei's screen i get an error about how I have used illegal flags and I'm kind of just melting down at this point at yet another failure. I think i have spent nearly a month now trying to get this going and i really need some help getting going.
All the guides online are real good at explaining how to set up compilers but don't actually explain how to set up the text editing or make files to use or anything like that. Which the SAS6.5 manual actually does really well.
I just want to dam code!
Please Reddit your my only hope.

Subject: Using IDE DVD rom on A1200; what cd file system should I use with WB3.2?
Sourced an old DVD drive for 5 dollars; tried it with my computer and works fine (it even burn DVD!) so I decided to plug it to my A1200.
Got the cable hooked up (44 to 40 pin), and powered it externally; looks like the disk spin but nothing show up on the workbench. I assume 3.2 does not have the CDFS already installed, so what should I install?

Hi all,
Iโm repairing an Amiga 500 with some RAM issues. Thereโs a mod been installed on the back to switch from fast to chip RAM.
Can anyone confirm that this is roughly how that mod works?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi all,
Noob here, but would someone mind answering a couple of Amiga 500 RAM questions, please? I'm trying to understand exactly how it works, but am getting stuck on a few points.
My understanding is that there are two "types" of RAM in the Amiga 500: Chipset and Fast. Only the CPU has direct access to Fast RAM. But both the custom chips and the CPU can access Chipset RAM, which can cause a bottleneck hence the name "slow" RAM.
A stock A500 has 512k of Chipset RAM. Here's the noob bit. As the A500 only has 512k onboard, I assume that the "Chipset" and "Fast" RAM are just different address spaces within the same RAM hardware. Is that right? Or is there actually more RAM onboard? Is the difference the route that the hardware takes to access the RAM rather than the RAM itself?
When you add an A501 512k expansion board to the Amiga's trapdoor connector, it's classed as Chipset RAM, but it actually can't be accessed by the custom chips, only the CPU. Because it sits on the Chipset bus -- and is in contention with CPU access -- it's considered "slow" RAM.
You can add a modification to pins JP2 and JP7A to move the A501 between direct CPU access and chipset bus access. That allows you to choose either 1MB of Chipset RAM, or 512k of Chipset and 512k of Fast.
Am I getting this correct?
Any assistance would be much appreciated. I'm trying to diagnose a fault by interpreting diagrom results but I'm getting stuck with the above.
Thank you.

Subject: Overdrive (Team17 unreleased conversion from 1993)
After insisting for a good while, I finally got the ok to upload on web archive the original 1993 MS-DOS conversion of Overdrive, Team17 top-down racing game for Amiga. This was originally commissioned by Team17 and developed by Holografix, a small Italian team; the English studio then refused their version because of a few bugs. It runs smoother than the subsequent official 1995 DOS conversion and even has quite a few improvements (like 256 VGA graphics and MIDI soundtrack, plus four adversaries on the track instead of two).
Download the game here: https://archive.org/details/Overdrive_Unreleased
Holografix then went to form Light Shock, more details on them and the history of this version of Overdrive here https://genesistemple.com/the-history-of-light-shock-software-putting-the-q-in-qa

Subject: My Easynet software and hardware to get my AMIGA 1200 online
Hello everyone, after three months of work I can finally release the Hired Guns Map Editor for Windows (HGMEW)!
The creation of the editor was made possible after the source code was released in 2021. It's layout will be familiar to those that have used Scott Johnston's original Hired Guns Map Editor in the past, but adds numerous additional functionality and user interface improvements. A short manual of sorts has been provided in the "Help -> Manual" toolstrip menu, which also lists all keyboard shortcuts.
