Subject: Can anyone recommend where to buy a working joystick for an A600 (UK based)‽
My brother passed away recently. While clearing out his things, we discovered that he had kept his Amiga this entire time. This is the computer with monitor and keyboard. We also found a box of disks for the Amiga. My brother loved this computer and the Commodore Amiga was the cornerstone to his professional career. My goal is to find someone who will love this computer as much as he did and give a new home.
Besides giving it a good dust off, I don't know where to start. As a non-computer person, I am posting here to find help on what I should do to make sure it is working correctly, figure out the specs of the computer, etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I upgrade my 1200 to kickstart 40.68 (3.1). It is an old stock Roms. Now the pcmcia port is not working. When I switch back to 3.0 it works fine. Common issue?

Subject: is there any pre-made image with 3.2 or 3.1.4 to try on WinUAE?
Curious to know if there is any HDF image available out there to try out the new OS; Not sure if that would even work on a real amiga since it would require the actual physical roms, but for testing purposes on WinUAE, that should work.
Considering that the new update is at least 60-80 dollars in US; would be nice to test drive it to see if it is worth to move on it, compared to use vanilla 3.1. I am all for supporting the devs work; I wish that there was a demo version out there to try

My a600HD was recently recapped and cleaned. The original HD (warranty sticker was actually still intact) had died and was causing the power supply trouble. So that’s out. Now the repair guys (very good reputation locally) could get a cf adapter to work but only with kick 3.1.4 and a furia board. I’m not ready to spend the money on new kickstart and the furia to be honest. So what are my options here? Just drop the idea of the cf card? Or is there a logical explanation for this?

Subject: Need Amiga external floppy drive to write Amiga boot disks from PC? Need double density disks? Or nah?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me_XeM8u0qE&t=1325s
I've seen some websites suggest that to write an ADF disk image to a disk to create a new Amiga boot disk that you need an Amiga external 3.5" floppy drive and also that only double density floppies should be used.
It looks like this gentleman is simply writing ADF images to floppies in the Amiga 500's internal floppy drive, and also he seems to be using regular degular high density PC floppies, no problem. Am I missing something or am I viewing this correctly?
I have a working Amiga 500 and just bought the rs232 cable and adaptor for an old PC so that I can hopefully create new boot disks from ADF image files. Also have a bunch of high density floppies. Just wondering if I need the external and other floppies before I can do this successfully.

I have an odd one, just playing with xcopy (booting from a floppy that has multiple versions) and whenever I try to copy from DF0 to DF1 it insists that there is no disc in DF1.
DF1 works fine in workbench (1.2) so I am a little stumped. Does anyone have any ideas.

Are there more icons in this 4 colour style?

Subject: I salute and hail Commodore...... Through my battleVest.
I was going for the c63 but heard it doesn't have a great selection of games. I was going to have an old model and run it off a Pi1541 or an ultimate II+ to play the games on.
I read that the Amiga A1200 is a good choice but it's through the roof with its pricing.
I grew up on the Atari ST but heard that's not as good as the Amiga, I guess it's the nostalgia ;)
Or should I just get a prebuilt MiSTer FPGA with all the bits and bobs? It plays like the real thing.
I'm a noob and I hope I could have some help from someone more experienced than me.
Thanks
