Subject: HiSoft HighSpeed Pascal manual?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

A buddy of mine is looking for the manual for HiSoft HighSpeed Pascal for Amiga.

Maybe someone has a link or can make a scan or so? :-)

Subject: Which board for a1200

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Which do you think is the better option (same money): - blizzard 1220 8MB (has add-on board) plus fpu; second-hand obviously - aca1221lc from icomp.de (new) with 16mb ram and all the bells & whistles like the ide Speedup technology.

Both are 020s at something like 28mhz. My use case is games and wb-applications from time to time. I have a cf card installed as HD. No pcmcia expansions currently.

Subject: Amiga game inspired

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have been playing a lot of good old games lately and I think it has inspired me when I am playing around with new ideas when I use my synths.

You can try to guess which game inspired this piece of music? ;)

Subject: Req: Synthia v1.0

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi!

After a long time I am getting back into the Amiga scene and I wonder if some kind soul has Synthia v1.0? I have found v2 which doesn't have the same GUI that I'm looking for but v1.0 seem elusive.

Thanks for any help or pointer in advance.

Subject: Basic installation of a HDD on an Amiga 1200 for dummies - help?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi! I'm based in the UK (saying this because... whatever) I'm getting an A1200 soon which will come without any hard drive, so I'm planning to put one or use a compact flash adapter. However, I've never had an A1200 and only owned an A500 as a kid and... today, so I'm quite new to this and quite clueless as for what I can and cannot plug to an A1200, and what I should know beforehand.

  1. Does the board accept normal IDE cables and IDE drives? I have several old working HDDs and may just plug one (ranging from 120MB to 2 GB)
  2. Would a compact flash to IDE work in the same way? (have some 128MB, 256MB and 512MB from an old Nikon Camera) What else should I know?
  3. What is compatibility and ease of use of a HDD on A1200? What does WHDload has to do with it? Let's say I want to install the 11 disks for Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, do I simply copy them via Workbench on the HDD?
  4. thanks in advance for your patience!

I'm doing this also because I'm bringing Amiga real hardware streaming (in Italian) to Twitch and I'd like to upgrade my systems, and fulfill an old kidhood dream of owning an A1200...
