Wouldn't it be nice if we have only one place to go to retrive all of our reddit news concerning our belover MiSTer?
I am not sure if this was ever discussed before, and most of all I do not want this to pass on like a criticism of the actual situation. I love reding posts on both subs, but most of the times they are indeed duplicated posts (i guess so to appeal to a bigger audience), but I really feel like concentrarion all of our thoughts inside a sigle channel would be better.
Am I out of line?
ah, and of course this post will be duplicated so to appeal to a bigger audience... :)

Subject: MikeS's Y/C Cores Repo finally added to update_all script 🎉
Do you think it makes sense to port mobile platforms such as j2me, SymbianOS and many others to MiSTer in terms of game emulation accuracy?
Or is it enough to use software emulators?

Subject: Mister on SNES core assigns ps4 wired controller as player 2/3, never as player 1
No matter what I do (reset player assignment, etc), the SNES core insists my ONLY connected controller (PS4, wired) is either player 2 or 3. This makes it so I can't play any single player games on SNES (Zelda, Metroid, for example). Only multi-player games (bomber-man, NBA jam) work well, but I am only player 2 or 3, never player 1.
Currently I only have a single PS4 controller, so haven't tested this when multiple controllers are connected. I also have the Mister USB hub connected on my setup, so I even tried connecting the controller to various ports on the hub.
On other cores (NES, or arcade cores), the controller is registered correctly as player 1.
Any help is appreciated...

I am having a couple of minor problems with using the AO486 core. I can't seem to find answers anywhere else, so here goes.
1: How to you set a default VHD to boot from? At the moment, it forgets all settings and I have to go into the F12 menu and set it up every time.
2: How do you remove a disk from the drive? I googled and people are saying use the backspace key, but that just makes the menu disappear and go back to the core.
Many thanks!

I just wanted others to confirm if GBC core support is broken for the favorites script before I submit a issue on github. Trying to add favorites for GBC games after the update but it can't see any games in the GBC games folder.
Minor issue as GB can still run GBC just fine and the script can still favorite using that core folder instead.

I've been out of the loop for a while, haven't done an update in probably a year, not really doing a lot with FPGA or retro-gaming in general. Last I had looked, the X-Arcade Tankstick only partially worked with MiSTer - One side's stick and buttons would work, but the other wouldn't. The problem was that the Tankstick feeds both sticks through a single USB, as opposed to independent discreet USB output for each set of controls.
Has any resolution developed for this, short of rewiring each side for an independent USB output? That would work - but I'd rather not go to that length.
I'd like to replace MAME on a traditional CPU with the MiSTer running arcade cores for my arcade cabinet, but the tankstick has been the monkeywrench in that plan - and I'm revisiting getting it all dialed in once again, and thought I should check here to see if there have been any changes that might save me some time.

Subject: Snatcher on Mega CD Y/C core on MiSTer via composite with MikeS' luma trap filter adapter to a BVM D9

I've been toying around the idea of setting up a MiSTer to consolidate some of my other current retro console systems. Currently I'm running all of my retro systems via component video YPbPr into a Extron Crosspoint matrix, which then outputs two separate YPbPr connections.
One connection goes to a Retrotink 5X that goes directly to my LG 1440p monitor, which I use with scanlines. The second connection goes to a 2nd Retrotink 5X that I send to an Elgato HD60S+ capture card connected to my streaming computer without scanlines so it doesn't look like trash on stream.
So, my question is:If I replaced some of my retro OG hardware with a MiSTer, do you see any potential problems I'd run into with a setup like mine?
For example:- Would I have to bypass the Retrotink and if I used scanlines for my viewing, the stream would just have to suck it up and deal with inaccurate scanlines?
Is it possible to have two separate video outputs from the MiSTer that have separate video properties?
- Any potential issues with the capture card compatibility?
- Other?
Thanks for any help and advice. I'm quite curious about jumping into the MiSTer world!

Subject: MiSTer FPGA DE10 NANO Sega Saturn UPDATED Core Tests; seeing how the core is doing
Hi.
A couple of years ago I bought a composite/S-video adapter from Antonio Villena. I connected it but I wasn't able to output a correct signal so he told me to flip a switch (there are four) directly on the DE10-nano board (not the I/O board). Does anyone know exactly what those switches are? I want to know what parameters I am switching on or off, not just blindingly pulling levers and pushing buttons.
Also, I've been reading about some new modified cores with native S-video. But I was successfully using S-video before without those modified cores. I'm a little confused about that.
