Subject: Xbox One/Series controller needs to be replugged when starting up
I have an Xbox Series controller that I use wired on my MiSTer but upon powering on and pressing the controller's guide button its LED only blinks and won't produce inputs. After I unplug and replug the controller it works normally. I've tried this with different cables and an Xbox One controller and the same happens.
Just wondering if this was intended behaviour, or a problem with my controller/cable/hub.

Subject: Antonio Villena's Jamma to Mister Controller Issue.
I recently got his jamma adapter but when trying to use my arcade stick only the joystick works but none of the buttons. Also both sticks are acting as player 1. Anyone got any info on this? It uses the Atmega32u4 chip with arduino micro pro.

Subject: Is it normal for update_all to randomly redownload everything?
So, tonight I ran update all. Pulled a couple core updates, nothing big. Decided to try the SAM script. Played with it, decided it wasn’t for me, then went back to update_all and deselected it. When I exited the configuration screen, update_all ran itself again, but this time it downloaded the entire cheat and palette database files for all the compatible cores and decompressed and installed them all, like it was a first run.
Do I need to be worried about duplication? Is this normal once in a while?

Hello
I have a few questions about analog output in general.
Will I be able to output to an analog tv if I don't get the analog IO board?
What are some good CRT for MiSTer that aren't crazy expensive?
Is it worth not having dual ram for the analog IO? What cores would be incompatible with that setup?

Does anyone know of a script that will display a list of recently played games from each core in a single playlist/directory? I’m trying to play more often with my daughter when time permits, but we usually play the same few games consistently before moving onto something else. This would be a nice wait to get into the games more quickly.
Thanks!

Subject: I’m considering purchasing one but utterly confused by the video output options.
I’m not sure yet if I’m going to use it with a 2560x1440p or 4K display. What video options should I choose to get the best looking but also most accurate picture in games? I’m mostly going to play NES, SNES, SMD, GBA, PSX games if that makes any difference.

Subject: Sudden "Out of Range: H:15.6k" error on my VGA monitor
Hello, everyone!
I've been enjoying my Mister FPGA for a while now - I had it hooked to a beautiful VGA monitor, a Packard Bell A726 to be exact, and everything was working smoothly with scandoubler and vga scaler turned on.
Yesterday, I decided to run the update_all script to get everything up to date again, since it's been a few months since last time I did this. It ran without a hitch, and booted back to the main menu as usual, so I turned my mister off. Today, I turned it back in to play a little bit, and was instead welcome by a dreaded "Out of range: H:15.6K" error from my monitor.
I tried fiddling with the mister.ini, turning vga scaler and/or scandoubler on and off again and meddled with vsync_adjust but nothing seemed to work. I thought it maybe was my monitor dying, but I plugged the VGA cable on another computer and it ran perfectly. I'm going to assume the update changed some settings, somehow? But I have no idea what it was exactly.
Here's my mister.ini, so you can get an idea: https://pastebin.com/HeLPsU4K
Thanks in advance! I love my Mister AND my CRT monitor, so it bums me to not be able to enjoy them both.

Subject: Trouble with custom cable I built for MikeS's YC cores
I got in touch with Mike on discord and he instructed me on how to build the cable:
VGA Pin #1 (Red) connects to SVIDEO Chroma (NW)
VGA Pin #2 (Green) connects to SVIDEO Luma (NE)
VGA Pin #5 (GRND) connects to SVIDEO both grounds (SW & SE)
I assembled a cable and double checked my continuity and I believe I built it correctly.
When I try to use the cable, the Main MiSTer menu appears on the screen, but it is very wavy and jittery. When I load any core (vanilla or YC) it looks like it has lost sync. The image rolls vertically and if I have a YC core loaded and switch from RGBs to YC output, I lose the image completely and there's just artifacts strobing on the screen.
It seems like I have a sync problem... I've tried all the different combinations of SOG and composite sync, and all have exhibited these same symptoms. Is there something that I am missing? Could this be a symptom of not building my cable properly?

Subject: PSX and Sega CD cores: Proper CHD disc image placement and organization?
I'm trying to pin down exactly how to store disc images, specifically for multi-disc games.
I've done a little googling and, as far as I can tell, Sega CD expects each game to have its own folder, whether it has 1 disc or 4? So far I've just had all the CHD's in one folder and it's worked just fine, but I haven't really spent enough time in any one game to worry about saves or swapping discs. Do I need to move each game to its own folder?
And, is this true for PS1 as well?
(And for those who love replying "why don't you just search," yeah, I did and couldn't find a definitive answer, so if you're so awesome why don't you point me to it? ; ))

I have to buy a stick of ram for my de10. v2.5 is $15 cheaper. Is it worth to pay more for the v2.9?

Sorry for the newbie question but building my first nano kit and wasn’t sure if a 2nd ram sticker rtc is recommended?
-Psx core doesn’t require dual ram and it seems Saturn likely not but not sure? Is one 128mb ram all that’s really needed?
-rtc clock? Can’t a Wi-Fi usb do what the rtc can? Why get the rtc?
Thank you!
