Subject: Looking for help with eXoDOS pack on ao486 core
For the past few days I have been trying to get the eXoDOS pack on my MiSTer and it’s finally working but it turns out my name_mappings.txt is all messed up so booting the games I want is challenging to say the least. So I come here before you today, on the eve of your daughter’s wedding to plead of you, please send me a rightly ordered name_mapping.txt
Subject: Alternate arcade MRAs
I have the alternate arcade MRAs from https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/MRA-Alternatives_MiSTer but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use them? Is there a wiki or article or guide anywhere that someone can point me towards to learn how to configure? Thanks!

Subject: Setting up PCXT Core
Ok, I admit I am old.... But I have been around computers since the late 70s, so I am not a newbie. What in the blue hell do I got to do to get the PCXT core to work??!! From what I gather you create the roms on github using some Python script or something? The only thing I know about Pythons, is they are either (1) a big snake, or (2) Hulk Hogans arms. LOL. Sorry, it is driving me crazy. HELP!!!

Subject: Guncon patched games pausing
So I just recently got a SNAX adapter (from Misteraddons) so I could use my light guns, and so far everything is working well across all the different cores, however I seem to be having issues with the PSX games with the Guncon patch. So far I have tested Lethal Enforcers as well as Die Hard Trilogy, and in both games I constantly get the pause screen while playing. I can hit the B button on the gun to resume, however it just keeps on pausing. Since the B button is pause on the Time Crisis games, I tested those and I do not get pauses. Also the games don't pause if I use the un-patched versions with the Justifier. I am applying the patches via the exe included in the bin folder of each. Has anyone else seen this issue or can think of any other settings I need to play with? Thanks!
Subject: Mistercon help, can't connect to MiSTer
So I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly with mistercon. Is there a setting I need to change in the MiSTer? I can't find anything in the docs either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't seem to find any info on this... Is it possible? I'm trying to play X-Wing & Rebbel Assault and using a controller just isn't the same.
Subject: Current Atari 2600 paddles solution?
I'm surprised it's so difficult, since low-latency original controllers on legacy consoles is one of the headline features of the MiSTer project, but I am stumped trying to get _even one_ paddle controller working for Atari 2600.
I have a MiSTer, and an ultimatemister analog board, and atari paddles. And iCode and 2600daptor DB9 adaptors. The challenges I have seen (while trying to research this) are:
- The Atari 2600 core is deprecated (?) and is now part of the 7800 core. That obsoletes many tutorials. (I'm left wondering whether to find an unofficial core and if that would help).
- The SNAC option, aside from only being valid for one paddle (which would be a fine starting point, frankly) involves an adapter (which I am happy to buy) and ADC input, which I don't know what it is or where to buy, or whether it's even on my analog mister expansion board. And I can't tell from the questions and answers I've seen whether it is working with the 7800 core at all.
- I bought an iCode 4-port 6-button adapter, and I followed their MiSTer/paddles Youtube tutorial, but I cannot get the fire button recognized, and so can't start any games. The tutorial uses the 2600 core (see above), and a newer iCode... but other than that _should_ be relevant. But despite following it and trying every configuration option I can find, I cannot get those paddle games to recognize the paddle fire button.
- I bought the 2600daptor DB9, which I _think_ should work, at least for one paddle. But I can't get it recognized at all, and I don't see thorough instructions for MiSTer anywhere.
- I see some reference to arcade spinner options, but can't find any for sale at the moment, and the questions being asked leave me wondering whether they even work on current 7800 cores.
Please: Any advice on how to get a simple paddle (and fire button) working with 2600 games would be hugely appreciated. What core and where to find it, and what adapter? I'll worry about dual paddles later, but for now just getting _one_ to work would be a triumph.
Frustrated, but grateful for any help.

I recently got a Mister and have NAS with many ROMs already organized. I want to be able to play the games from the network, but I don't want to reorganize my ROM folders. Does anyone have a link to folder structure and how games are polled from over the network.
Subject: MiSTer Aluminium Case MicroSD Slot
I'm currently using an acrylic MiSTer case, however, the thickness of it makes it hard to get the MicroSD out of the slot. So I was wondering is the MiSTer Aluminium case thin enough that it's easy to take the MicroSD out?
Subject: Can you use thermal adhesive paste for copper heatsink?
The thermal tape that came with my heatsink came completely off in an unusable state when peeling the non-stick layer. The local electronics supply shop doesn’t stock thermal tape and recommends using an adhesive thermal paste instead. That seems a little overkill to me, so I figured I’d ask if anyone else has tried it.
Subject: C2 4:3 input lag — deeply noticeable for light retro gaming? (x-post from r/OLED_Gaming)
I have a new 55” C2 still in the box that I picked up last week after unsuccessfully scouring the internet for a last remaining C1.
I’ve read about the input lag introduced at 4:3 on the C2, and I’m wondering how this might compare to 4:3 lag on the 10 year old LG 47LM8600 I’m upgrading from, that I’ve had my MiSTer connected to for a year.
I’m a casual retro gamer and not so sensitive to input lag that my older LG LED tv really bothered me.
Is the C2 a dramatic step backwards for 4:3 input lag, or am I likely to not notice much of a difference vs my 47LM8600?
Subject: Any native 16:9 cores on MiSter FPGA?
Just wondered if there are any native/real 16:9 cores on MiSter FPGA? Any arcade cores?
(The PSX 16:9 'hack' doesn't count).
I believe 16:9 took over from 4:3 around Y2K, so something could hide in there I guess. : )
Subject: Gameboy Advance 2P core, how to use second player?
Hi! I'm trying to evolve an alakazam on pokemon emerald and thought to use the gameboy 2p core to do so by trading. Does anyone know if it's possible to control the second gameboy core without owning a second controller? There dont seem to be any options in the menu for switching to player 2.
