Subject: Giving up this mister fpga thing

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I had my mister configured more than one year ago, I just stored and never played with it anymore.

I tried to back and for my deception it was terrible to make this thing work again. I had to re format the sd card, so far so good, configured wifi, when rebooted, no hdmi signal.

Tried another sd card, same result, after reboot, shutdown directly from unplug the cord because it doesnt have any way to shut down it properly, it won't display any sort of image.

I'm tired of this thing, I had better experience with a raspberry pi before and I don't even like raspberry pi at all... I have no idea whats going on here, my sd card is properly formated I checked in my computer but for some reason, mister wont send the signal to hdmi and that's very stupid...

I think I should put this crap on ebay for sale at least I can recover some cash back.

Subject: NextCube on MiSTer?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

The NextCube was my dream machine back in the early 90s but was prohibitively expensive at around $7k for the base model. It was based on the Motorola 68k series processors, 608030 with a separate 68882 FPU and a digital signal processor DSP56001. The full specs are listed here; https://lowendmac.com/next/cube.html.

Do you think it is even possible to make this work on the DE-10 nano? Im wondering if there is even enough room for all the logic on the FPGA?

I used to be a C and C++ developer back in the 00s but haven’t coded now in probably 10-15 years. I was thinking about following through some of the tutorials to get started with HDL, but know that doing something like this would take me years to get near.

Subject: Coming back to mister after 2 years

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi sorry for the misunderstanding earlier.

The issue I was having was caused to wrong installation, now I fixed my issues using Mr Fusion.

https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/mr-fusion

If any of you have issues like not booting, you can try it. Check the sd card quality is another must. I was out mister for more than one year now I'm baffled how many new stuff came like CPS2 and PSX cores. That's really amazing to see.

Subject: Ordered a DE10-Nano from Terasic. Question regarding cores.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Good day, guys. As I mentioned a few days ago, I was going to order from Terasic. I just did today (shipping was super expensive, though), and well, now I am just waiting for it to arrive.

I wanted to ask about cores and the SDRAM. I know the SDRAM is needed for Neo Geo, but my main interest is the AO486 and NES cores, and I wanted to know if the SDRAM is needed for those or if I can go without it for a bit. I still plan to order the SDRAM, but not yet.

Subject: MegaAGS updated (06/06/22)

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey guys,

I don't know if it's been discussed on here before since I haven't seen a post about it yet, but I have been having some issues with some Amiga games via the MegaAGS (February 2021) I had been using for a long time. By looking for an updated version, I came upon an updated version on archive.org (https://archive.org/details/megaags) - by taking a look in the 7Z category, the newest one reads "MegaAGS-v2022-06-06.7z" and it turns out to be updated with new games, categories and game installations (WHDs) have been updated as well and fixed, thus also fixing f.e. Globdule or Shadow Dancer for me in that regard.

Thought this might be helpful, the update is well appreciated and awesome!

Subject: Which power cables do I get for the Mean well power supply?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Sorry to post again. But I've got the Mean Well Power Supply GST25A05-P1J 20W 5V 4A from the RMC store that outputs 20W but it didn't come with a power cable for my country's region (Australia) and I'm looking up cables online and trying to see which one will work. Will most generic cables work?

I was looking at this one: https://www.power-supplies-australia.com.au/PLAC-3PAU-C13IEC-1800

Will most 3 Pin AC to Female IEC-C13 cables be fine?

Subject: 1080i output - for use with HD CRT

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have a HD CRT that looks excellent with a 1080i incoming signal, but 720p is meh in comparison. I'm thinking it wouldn't be too hard to implement, as long as the DE-10 Nano supports it. There are devices that could do the 1080p>i conversion, but since I already have to convert HDMI to component for use with this TV, I'd prefer to not add another device to the chain.

Both are out of stock and I was planning on ordering a DE-10 at some point. Very confused as to what will or won't work.

Subject: Mister Win 95

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have done a lot of playing around with software emulation, but have been looking into the Mister lately, it’s just a little pricey. Before I looked into really taking the plunge, I was wondering if it could run some Win 95 games that were CPU speed sensitive. Two games I really want to be able to play again are Sierra Trophy Bass 2 Deluxe and Axis and Allies Iron Blitz. Trophy Bass 2 requirements are a 66 mhz cpu and 16 mb of ram I believe. Is the Mister able to do this? Sorry if this has been asked before. I’m on my morning coffee break typing this on mobile. Thanks.

Subject: Mr fusion download size

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi, I've been struggling to find out much storage the Mr Fusion download is (running on the mister for the first time). I have a spare 64gb card, will that be enough? All I could find was that it would take "about 45 minutes".

Was nervous it would fail if I didn't have enough storage so wanted to check first.

Thanks.

Subject: I'm stuck. A majority of newer arcade cores won't recognize inputs.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I thought I had messed up my install, so I did an absolute complete wipe. I did a new MISTER FUSION install, ran the update_all script, and ran the wifi script.

Beyond this, the only thing i've done is ensured that my jtbeta.zip file was in my MAME folder (and yes, it's still zipped).

The games load fine. I hear sound. I see no graphical issues - but after setting my controls then hitting "save settings" nothing happens. I hit the coin button to tell the game I'm ready to play... nothing. I hit ALL the buttons. Nothing.

I tried Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 3, The Punisher, DoDonPachi, Alien vs. Predator, and a couple others (probably 19XX). I just sat and watched the intro/demonstration screen over and over again.

The only games that I tried that ran were old - like Dig Dug.

What gives? All the other consoles I've set up work right.

I've tried with a wireless keyboard and a 8bitdo SNES controller. Nothing.

Problems reading memory cards on PSX

I'm playing RE2 and saved my game normally without save states, now when I try to load the game it shows no files found as nothing being saved.

In my sd card I see it saved a file but no way to mount or load it, I'm in the latest update core of PSX.
