Does anyone have a guide to flashing the software on to homemade boards?
I've made a couple and they seem to be working, but I flashed them through trial and error because I've never used the software before, and I couldn't find a detailed guide on the flashing process.
Or is the fact that both boards are working indicative of a correct flash?

Subject: Do Ultimarc pac boards and X-Arcade work well?
What's up everyone,
I'm about to get a mister pro and currently have an X-arcade and a few control panels I made for Defender and Robotron with each using a mini-pac. And an original Tempest spinner and control panel that is hooked up to a mini pac and opti pac. All of these currently used in Mame.
Will all of these work like they do in Mame? I googled and saw info from last year but since things can change a lot in a year I was wondering with the current build in 2021 if these are plug and play in mister.
And also unsure about the pro standard vs digital. Probably going to use it on an older apple cinema display or a 19" Vision Pro CGA/EGA/VGA LCD Monitor. I may get a CRT arcade monitor down the road but for now, I have both of those monitors.

Subject: Trying to use CIFS -- got mount working, now what goes where (AO486 core)?
Specifically for the AO486, what goes where?
I've got the MiSTer mounting to a shared directory, wherein I have the subfolder 'games'.
I have another folder in there, 'AO486', which is where I put my VHD of DOS for IDE_0_0... but do the two boot.rom's go on the SD, or to the mount? And the rbf?

Subject: Is there a way to auto load a rom when a core starts? Specifically I'm considering the gba core.
I'm looking to focus on a single game (having all these games at my disposal I tend to lose focus). I've set
bootcore=lastcore
in MiSTer.ini, so it boots straight into the gba core (or whichever core I had loaded when I turned off the MiSTer). Now I'm hoping there is a way to not have to select the rom every time I turn on the MiSTer, so my question is: is there a way to have the gba core load a rom automatically when it starts?

Subject: X-Men vs Street Fighter background image for MiSTer
![]() | Hey everyone, I just recently acquired a MiSTer system from Misteraddons and I've been having a lot of fun messing around with it and all the different cores. Recently learned about Jotego's work, and was very excited to read about his progress on CPS2. I decided to work on a background image for MiSTer using assets of one of my favorite CPS2 games: X-Men vs Street Fighter. I'm a huge fighting game nerd, and this is the game that got me into the genre. I hope you all enjoy it. In the future, I would like to do more of these as well including my own illustrations. I hope you all enjoy it. Attached is PNG file as well as a rough mock-up for you guys to see what it would look like with the menu on screen. Remember to rename the file as "Menu.png" when adding it to you SD Card directory. EDIT: This is in 1920x1080 [link] [comments] |
Sorry for the noob question but I'm in the midst of upgrading SD card space from 8GB to 32GB (eventually 512GB I'm sure, have the blank card waiting). I wrote the Mr. Fusion image to the card and after placing it in the Nano it never completely writes its partitions and setup properly (goes well past the two minute window w/o exiting from the setup screen). I'm using a SanDisk Ultra HC I Class - is this too fast/wrong type of card? I was able to get it semi-working in the past by writing the linux build to it and copying over the files from my 8GB card, but since this completely F's up the permissions on the folder structure I'm guessing - it never worked properly especially when running the update_all script. Thanks for any support in advance.

Subject: Aliexpress parts - can they kill my board?Any experiences?
Greetings.. I'm waiting for SDRAM, IO and USB boards from AliExpress..I'm wondering if there's any chance faulty RAM or anything could kill my DE10? Or in worst case, they just don't work?

I just received the DE-10 Nano board but I'm still waiting for the memory expansion board. I understand it's possible to run some of the cores without the memory expansion, but is it worth the effort? What cores can you run without the extra memory?

Subject: Hard Core - How MiSTer Emulation Is Redefining The Art Of Resurrecting Gaming's Past
Hi,
I've been working on a controller hub to connect NES, SNES and Genesis controllers to the MiSTer using Daemonbite adapters. For now the board only serves as a mount for the Pro Micro boards and the controller ports, but I plan to incorporate a USB hub to replace the USB hub I have now. Here are a few pictures:

I'd like to get away with only two ATmega32u4 chips, with the SNES and NES controllers running through one. I tried to follow the instructions on GitHub to make this work (link), but so far am only able have three controllers recognized.
Has anyone had luck with connecting four controllers through a single Daemonite adapter? If so, I'd love to hear what steps you took.
Thanks!
