Subject: I just have a simple question: when, where, and why did we just turn against each other?
I am not a democrat or republican. I was raised that “you never talk about politics , sex , religion” and here we are , it’s what everyone ever talks about on social media OR in person...we are so divided as a nation and we have inhaled the concept “if you don’t agree with me, you’re my enemy”
And that’s just wrong... I’m not saying BLM was wrong, the concept was right. Blacks and Latinos and all minorities are treated unfairly; especially blacks. I’m also not saying being a conservative is wrong. You work hard? Why not earn your keep? That’s literally the reason why we rebelled against England; we wanted our own independence. But nevertheless we move on.
The riots and destruction was wrong. It’s simple , violence isn’t the answer; it brings out more violence, retaliation and hate. And it doesn’t make one side agree with the other. It just pushes people in the other direction. . .
I’m a white man, but I totally see the racism in all of its forms. I think we all need to relax and take a step back. BOTH SIDES ARE DESTROYING THE COUNTRY. You can blame Trump for not leading us, but you then would have blame Obama for not making financially smart decisions. AGAIN, I am not a Dem or Rep. I’m just stating facts
Each politician doesn’t care about you or me. They only care about the top 5 percent. That’s just the shear nature of the beast. They use YOU to get YOUR vote. You’re just another pawn. We all are.
I understand that the EXTREMISTS are the one destroying this country, but more people are extremists than ever before. Why??? I believe it started in 2012, when I would go onto Facebook and see people actually post “if you don’t vote Obama, you’re a racist” I thought it was a joke and 9 years later....not really a joke. It’s a mindset people actually have.
I just don’t understand why, where did it come from? Where did the “if you aren’t with me, you’re my enemy” become a thing????
People have ‘unfriended me’ because (again, I don’t talk politics anywhere or to anyone, nor do I even LIKE/COMMENT on any political post) I didn’t ‘like’ their political posts. ‘So clearly I’m against them’ eyeroll
Now I really don’t give a shit. I’m just BAFFLED as to why people are falling into this . . How should I word it? Cult??? Clan???? Gang?????

Well, I considered myself a libertarian until I joined Twitter earlier this month. Big mistake.
Turns out most libertarians on their are just a bunch of self righteous ass holes who fail to see their own hypocrisy and blindly follow failed comedians with podcasts. They claim to be taking over the party. If their followers are representative of them, I want nothing to do with that mess. I think a public figures followers can say a lot about a person.
I expressed sympathy for the policeman who died after Wednesday’s events and was quickly attacked from all sides. Some wanted me to be happy because a policeman died and others automatically attacked me for not condemning BLM. Dude, I never said shit about BLM.
Guess what? A person can both condone BLM riots and Trumpster riots. Why would anyone think that is unreasonable? Is it really that radical that I don’t want anyone to die?
Also, the great Mr. Tom Woods does nothing but talk about how Covid is basically a hoax and no one should wear a mask. As an ICU nurse who has done nothing but work in Covid ICUs since this pandemic began, I find this incredibly insulting. This virus is real. I watch people die from it every day. They die alone. Just put a fucking mask on. No one is trying to control you. Even if it just decreases your chance of spreading the virus by 10%, is that not enough to just fucking do the right thing and maybe save someone’s life?
Anyway. My wife hates talking politics and I wanted to share this with someone. 🤷♂️
