Subject: Anyone else find it funny at how easy it is to find pirated movies/shows on Google?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I was having a chat with a friend and he said that hes been watching full episodes of some Gordon Ramsey shows on his laptop and I asked him what streaming service he uses and he said none and that it was just a random link on Google from one of the random 123movie sites.

I never actually thought about it but its so stupidly easy now to find a working link to any movie or TV show in less than a minute on Google. I find it hilarious how Google just doesn't care and indexes these pirate sites in the first 10 results. I know that search engine optimization has a lot to do with it, but Google could easily go in there and un-index those websites if they chose to do so but they never intervene and they just let the sites roam free. I can google just about any movie and TV show and put the words "Online for free" at the end of the movie title and it will always have a pirated movie link on the first page, to me that its just hilarious but awesome.

I'm not saying that all those 123movie sites are the best links that you should click but I like how if I go to a friends house and I wanna watch a specific movie on their TV I can just pop open the web browser and be watching any movie I want without having to download any pirated apps. Sure I might have to close some annoying pop-ups but its at least cool that I can just google search a movie/show and be watching it all within a few minutes even if my friend doesnt have access to that show.

Its something we all take for granted, But I had a good laugh about it and wanted to talk about just how stupidly easy it is to access pirated movies and shows in this day and age.

Subject: Could you suggest a few sources where I can find some vhs/tv copies and full screen editions of some films?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I feel like wanting to both relive my younger days and see the difference between the fullscreen edition and the original editions of certain movies I'm looking for. Could someone help me? Is there a tracker dedicated solely for vhsrips and tvrips?

Subject: Any working torrent clients for windows xp?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I am looking for a torrent clinet that will be able to run and download stuff on windows xp. I managed to install Vuze without any trouble, but it wan't able to actually download stuff, as the torrent was just sitting there, stuck, with a 0 bit download speed.

Is it still possible to torrent stuff on Windows Xp in 2023?

I've heard of addons that grant unlimited skips and no ads. But I forgot which one. Is it doable in 2023 ? I use Firefox.

Subject: Slow moving torrents/stuck at stalled

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Just a curious question. Whenever you get a slow moving torrent (like saying it could take pretty much months to finish) or ones that get stuck at being stalled due to low seeders, how patient are you? Do you cut your losses and look for that same media type in another torrent/DDL or, as long as you have a good Seedbox remote desktop or an ISP with no data caps (fuck Mediacom btw) do you let it go as much as you can?

I just have a few movies that I've gotten through Radarr and since they're a little obscure it's slow moving as hell. I do have a Seedbox remote desktop but I still have quite a few that have been downloading slow or stalled for a bit. Just wondering how patient I should be.

Subject: Request content for Deemix?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I've used Deemix for years, but sometimes I come across an album that I can't find on there.

Lately I've been using it to download stand up comedy albums. I was hoping to see the new Chris Rock special on there but nope.

Any way to request content on Deemix?

Also, anyway to get Chris Rock new netflix special on an audio file so I can listen in my car?

Specifically for things like Drops, or subscription based services. I've tried APKmody and APKPure but neither work. Thanks!

Subject: YouTube TV is raising their rates to $75/mo

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

We have an important update for our members. After nearly 3 years, we’re adjusting our monthly price from $64.99/month to $72.99/month. As content costs have risen and we continue to invest in the quality of our service, we are updating our price to keep bringing you the best possible service. ‌ Your YouTube TV Base Plan membership price will change in your first billing cycle on or after April 18, 2023, and will be charged to your payment method on file going forward. To view your current plan, go to your Settings > Membership page for updated information. If you are currently on a Base Plan promotional price or a trial, that promotion is still honored and unchanged. ‌ We will also be lowering the price of our 4K Plus add-on from $19.99/month to $9.99/month. Users new to 4K Plus are eligible for a $4.99/month for 12 months promotional offer.* For existing users, if you are on a promotional price below $10/month, you’ll enjoy that price until the promotional period is over, at which point you’ll automatically receive the new price of $9.99/month. If you’re currently paying above $9.99/month, your new price will be $9.99/month. ‌ We hope YouTube TV continues to be your service of choice, but we also understand that some members may want to cancel their service. Family managers have the ability to cancel anytime here. For additional information, please visit our Help Center. ‌ Sincerely, The YouTube TV team

Welp. Idk what to do. That price is truly insane and I’ve been paying for it so we can watch the Warriors play and occasionally college football when the season comes around. Aside from that it’s South Park, Colbert, and the occasional MSNBC and SNL.

It’s truly amazing how bullshit this all is. I’m starting to build a server for Plex but I have no clue where to start for near-live TV.

Subject: JDownloader2: How to queue only one download per archive part?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I'm using JDownloader 2 and its LinkGrabber to download from gog-games.com. Usually the game archive will consist of hundreds of part files, each available on multiple hosters but rarely does one hoster have all the required parts. I have to go through the list with hundreds of entries and pick one link for each part manually. Is there a more automated way? Ideally, I want to set a priority list of hosters, such that the program will pick all available links from hoster A, then pick missing parts from hoster B, pick still missing parts from hoster C and so on, until there is one link for each archive part in the queue.

Subject: I downloaded a game without a VPN, how I ensure I’m safe?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I hope this makes sense, I’m new to this subreddit and not sure how things work around here but I come in peace!!!

I downloaded a game because I was bored, but I didn’t do any research and just downloaded it from a website where I read multiple sources saying it’s safe. Of course, I’m dumb and didn’t use a VPN. How do I ensure I’m safe from legal trouble? Thank you for any and all advice!
