I have a legit copy of Solidworks as part of my university course, if I am to pirate an add-in (Power Surfacing), are they safe to use together or do I have to block all of Solidworks through my firewall so I don't get raided by a French commando squad?

I just finished writing a program to download very high-quality textbooks from VitalSource.

Long story short, I don't like VitalSource as a company and wanted control over what I paid for. So I wrote this. My script will produce a book nearly identical to what the publisher has access to. Features include:

• Automated download of pages.
• Automated OCR.
• Correct page numbering (including Roman numerals at the beginning).
• Table of contents creation.
• No funny stuff. No weird endpoints and no hacky scraping.
• Almost completely transparent. All actions are ones that a normal user would do.

The goal of this project is for it to "just work." There are many other VitalSource scrapers out there that are weird, poorly designed, or broken. I designed my scraper to be simple while producing the highest-quality PDF possible.

It's worked great for me so far but there may be some situations I didn't account for. If you run into any issues, open a bug report on GitHub.

I am using some car racing telemetry programs and on top of selling us the "boxes" for insane amiunt on money they are now selling us the "licence" to use the software to read the data generated in OUR cars on OUR boxes.....

Long story short I am looking for the current state of the USB dongle (I used to have one called sentinel 10-15 years ago) and what is available to go around them ?

Is it "easy" (doable for soemone like me) and what are the current systems ?

I understand not to pirate software with company computer, but what about using pirated documents that were produced at home computer.

I.e Using Adobe Acrobat reader pro to create custom pdfs at home and then transfer them to work.
