Subject: Ripping YouTube Audio with JDownloader 2 & Davinci Resolve
Can anyone explain why the audio track (of a video) I've downloaded with JDownloader 2, can't be used in Davinci Resolve (Studio)?
If I download the entire YT video, I can import it into DR. But not the audio only. The audio plays OK with VLC.

Subject: Usenet has nothing?
Yesterday I asked where I could find mac software (one specific plugin I have trouble finding), and someone suggested Usenet.
Not really knowing what it is or how to use it, I proceeded to get a free trial on newshosting.com and run a few search queries on their database.
At a first glance, it is very, very lackluster. I can find 5x more stuff on 1337x alone, nevermind all the private trackers I have access to, all free.
I also find it much more annoying to search for anything as a result of minimal sorting, no description, information, or comments.
In other words, I'm confused - I have always read good things about it. What am I doing wrong?
PS: Any good mac private trackers that have things BrokenStones doesn't?
Subject: Accessing CraveTV content
Hi, I really want to access content on the Canadian streaming service CraveTV. However I do not know how to do so, there is a specific film that I want to watch that is only available through that service.
I have tried to search this subreddit but I cannot work out how I would be able to access this.

Subject: My personal experience with Steam (bad)
Hello, I saw a few posts from users explaining their bad experience with series streaming platforms.
I also want to mention my bad experiences with Steam and how unethical I find some of their practices.
First of all, I have only used steam and I for sure know that other smaller game stores that do not have a desktop application may be fine.
About a certain large Steam competitor that offers a lot of free games at all time, I feel that although it is good for users, I have always been disgusted at how blatantly it is bribe. Instead of moving to the other store for its quality, you are bribed by the free games, many of which are very played and giving so many of them free may anger past buyers.
Well, now about Steam:
As a usual player of japanese games, the first thing I need to mention is that they have an inherent bias against japanese games and visual novels. Many years ago, Steam was made aware of the bad reputation they were getting for censoring and filtering which japanese games were published in Steam with reasons that fell out of their own ToS or US laws.
At a point in time, they said they would only ban illegal content and that they were really sorry but in less than two months, I remember they were back to the same behavior. It is known among the VN community that sometimes even trying to publish a game in a school setting without +18 content, gets shot down too. In some instances any school ref is taken down, last year, certain game which was +18 and school, had to be 1 school->college 2 all +18 content removed. Any of these by separate would be enough to be in tone with Washington state laws which is where Valve HQ is located. It is also known that when Steam evaluates if they are going to publish a game, developers are often not told what changes they need to make, not given explanations or even retracting a game that was going to be published in a few days.
Despite Steam allowing +18 games, most of +18 VNs are released in an all ages version in Steam. Then devs place an uncensor patch in their own website. Steam has forbidden some developers from posting links in the store, which may be reasonable if some of the restored content is illegal in Washington; but the concerning fact is that they have banned regular users for even just saying that those patches exist. If they do this with jp games which are a huge market, who knows what they do with the rest. I suppose we are already getting low sugar games to appease Steam censors.
Another worrying fact has been apparently discussed before, we are getting licenses for use and it is ambiguous how Steam closing would affect users and their games if it were to happen.
This is what I have against Steam regarding their behavior.
Now on the more interesting issue about the problems I have found within the store and the games I have bought.
First of all, they publish 20+ year old games like Fallout 2 or Vampire the masquerade but those do not work on current PCs, you are required to apply a community patch for them to work correctly. So out of the blue, they sell games that do not work.
I have also noticed that Steam makes changes that do not make any sense to game configuration files, which are saved to the cloud, permanent until they are changed in the text file and can, in fact, make your game crash or not start at all. The first time I noticed this was with Resident Evil 2 Remake. Suddenly I had issues in the same places, the screen went black but I still heard the sounds of the game. Luckily, I found a user with the same problem that had found the issue. A field that should be 0 was set to 1 in the config file and that field cannot be modified in game. The same thing happened with the same game months later and was solved as the user said. This is really worrying because it means Steam (unknowingly) has a bug that changes files and makes users unable to use their paid products unless they are experts and can pinpoint the issue or find someone who has had that problem. Much later I found that Xcom enemy within didn't even start when it worked before. Steam told me to go to the game devs but apparently they also had no idea. A pirated Xcom worked fine in my computer so I am 95% sure the issue is similar to the previous one.
Before I found out this issue, I would only buy some games that I really liked and felt developers efforts needed to be rewarded, like Bioshock. After I found that any moment at any time I can stop being able to play a game, I don't buy a game anymore. I am considering trying to contact game studios to donate money equal to a copy of the game instead of promoting a platform that outright sucks.
Autoupdates are on by default by Steam, which means that your game today may not be the same in a month's time. This is catastrophical for users like me who use mods. Fortunately, I mod Skyrim LE; but users of Skyrim Special Edition, the remaster, where met with a mandatory update by the end of 2021. That update made plugins and many mods broken. Some were fixed after that; but I suppose some old ones whose creators were retired, remain broken. I don't know how many of those will remain broken forever.
The same thing happened with Resident evil games last year. They suddenly published a raytracing update that change the file structure of the whole game. This was made automatically and with no way to go back at the time until they made the old game available in a menu option. Well, I won't say much but this was a shitty move by crapcom because players could already get raytracing in those games without crippling the whole game structure. Additionally, this created a rift in the mod community which now is actually 2 different mod communities and most mods are still published for the old version.
Recently, the witcher 3 has updated and it broke all my mods. They seem to have learned since they give you an option to access the "classic mode" (BTW, I heard lots of complains about the new ver). However, even with a clean install of the classic mode, the game isnt working for me. I get a black screen with sound at the start and then it crashes my PC. I think it might be the config file thing again but Idk, it is waaaaaay easier to move to a pirate game. I would'nt have thought they would break a 7 year old game that worked fine.
Before the autoupdating fiasco thing, I was already not buying in steam; but now my position is so reinforced that I don't think I will ever forget this.
These facts have made me aware that we don't have any control over the games we buy, they can change it overnight to whatever they want; they could make your favorite game tetris; although they would have to deal with the rage. This is a big problem with the platform. They are allowing these shenanigans knowing that years after you bought the game, you can't return it anymore.
So basically, Steam is dead to me. Currently I only have 3 steam games installed: Skyrim LE because I need a steam copy to use the modding program (it is shitty, I know), Resident evil 2 (because it ended up working again and it was more work to install the pirate one) and the witcher 3 which I am currently trying to fix but I won't be able to.
So I am going to be 100% on the pirate ship now.
If you've had bad experiences with Steam, please post in your comments.
Subject: Question about Disney
Hey everyone, there has recently been a discussion online about the scene in Disney’s Atlantis the lost empire where Rourke punched the king's belly and some people claimed that the versions today cut away 1 second before the punch's impact, but the theatrical version was uncut. Has anybody heard of it? Those with a camrip might know more.

Rules are still applicable so please do not request for specific pirated content (ie. specific movie, book, etc.) and definitely don't link to any. Do not mention specific media names asking for help in finding them.
Don't forget to check out the wiki, which contains a megathread with a list of sites/apps, tools, FAQ, and other useful resources.

Subject: a little help please
Hey so i saw someone post about this script - https://github.com/gordonbay/Windows-On-Reins
Now, for the most part, it's made a difference in speed and such and privacy of course, but it had the side effect of disabling local file sharing and now my microphone won't work at all due to the privacy setting change, which I can't change back due to settings now just crashing every time.
Does anyone know how i can get those working,I please?
