You're not the first person who was shocked at how I turned out. :)

But - yeah - I also don't really... it isn't that I do it on purpose... I just am a little broad-spectrum or ADD, so when I get something into my head - "no" doesn't actually mean a lot to me. It isn't the only personality flaw I suffer from - or it isn't the only way whatever it is that doesn't work with me manifests itself *as* a personality flaw...

I got in trouble over on Uncensored recently for this. Seeing my daughter diagnosed as very high spectrum made a lot of bells go off for me about myself - and the things I just don't  about how normal people behave.

But, also, I honestly don't *care* about it the way normal people do, either. It isn't that I'm indifferent - it is that I've never really connected with emotions the way other people describe them.

I try to be as normal as I can be - often, it isn't enough for a lot of people.

Whaddayaknowabout me?

:)

From what I know of Charles, No really means No.

I was there when you first started visiting Citadel boards, and then set up your own system.  I know of your "troubled" youth, as well as your transformation into the tech world, and read many of your articles over the years.

Was a little surprised of the family man you became after seeing you in your teen years...

Wait a minute.

You're PAGAN. Um... shit. I forget your real name. I'm almost certain that you went by the name Otto Roboto too... and... I think you're the perfect profile, age wise. I haven't found that damn collection of your writing, but thinking about that made the light go off on this...

I was just writing about looking for your collected works and I went, "Otto Roboto... kind of a late 50's, early 60's cultural vibe... that kind of funky, hip sense of..."

I'm right, aren't I?

I was also surprised when you began visiting my Citadel back in the day... and had forgotten that I had given you AIDE status, and I think I recall that I had Aide status on Yoyodyne, eventually too, which I also found unlikely.

No, Pagan Flames was James Ollinger (sp?).  I was also not able to find his collected works.  I do think he might have influenced this handle though.  And as a non-sequitur note, Omni-86 sysop was Charles Meadows, Gary Meadows was Hotel-86.  Might want to update your HOME story page.  lol...

Yes. Pagan Flames is James Ollinger. As soon as I read it, I went, "YUP!"

Well... back to the drawing board.

I think I'll let the historical inaccuracies stand on the homepage story. It wouldn't be an "In Search Of," episode unless it was badly researched and had obvious things wrong.  It gives it a kind of meta-humor quality. :D

I think OS X is going to be instrumental in helping me find the missing collection. Or narrowing it down to few enough machines that it will be trivial to find it.

Well, maybe if I emphasized my involvement in the Citadel development in Sacramento and point out that you have named just about everyone else but me.  Which is rather surprising because you have been all around it.  Just not directly at me.  ;)

And also consider how many details about the beginning of Sacramento's involvement with Citadel that I have presented and who all would really have access to that inside information...

It's right there on the tip of your tongue, you know it is.  How about if I offer the clue of the board I ran:  916-349-8879.  No, I do not own that number any longer...

Let's try this.  Who did the first compilation of Citadel source code in Sacramento?  I cannot be more direct than that.

I do enjoy the ability to react to things with positive or negative feedback.  I think I like downvoting even more than upvoting, though I do tend to upvote more often.
