Dead in the water, huh? Makes me hungry for sashimi.

Speaking of dead in the water, that's me again. Seems like I pop in here whenever my income bottoms out, lol.

I've just learned how to *really do* enterprise social media. I had a client triple her book sales in the last two weeks. I have others using it to hype events or product launches. That's been pretty awesome. Meanwhile I'm not using it to advertise MY OWN SERVICES, which may be why I'm flagging. So perhaps this is the humiliation I need to take my own medicine.

Happy Memorial Day, homies.

It has been a long time since you have shown up, and other than you guys, if we have users they're pretty much lurkers.

I might need to talk to you about your services. I've known for a while that a big part of my problem is that I don't have any promotion of my brand going on. I've got a core audience developed - but I can't seem to grow it.

I need to fix that.

No, I never got offered an interview at that place.

I'm rarely online at home anymore because I spend all my time doing doordash to keep the lights on.  I need something better but that takes time which I'm spending on earning the money lol.

Anyway, I sent you a text inviting you to Poker Night at my house.  I hope you show up.

I'm assuming the text was to me. I'll have a look. I've been overwhelmed with this new job and then my wife's demanding social schedule.

Her mother unfortunately has been diagnosed with aggressive stage IV cancer, so she is going through chemo right now - and we're being very supportive. I'm totally supportive of this, and will drop everything and do anything that they need right now - so we've been visiting them a lot more frequently than we would in normal circumstances - and I've been far better about not looking at my phone and saying, "Well, the dogs need to be fed..."

BUT... my wife, I think she is going through a mid-life crisis - where this group of friends that I really grew/cultivated - they've all accepted and adopted her to the point where I think they all like her more than they like me (which isn't hard to imagine...) But I don't think she has ever had a group or circle of friends this big that all genuinely want to hang out with her all the time - and she is eating it up. When we were kids and I wanted to party, she was very anti-social - but all of the sudden, she is wanting to party like a high school girl. So, every weekend, we're not just seeing them - we're spending 6 to 8 hours with them or more, and it is constant drinking and going places. Car shows, pool parties, camping trips, dinners out, vacations. They're a great group of friends - we've done things like 6 of us have gone out as 3 couples, gone to a seafood restaurant, and each couple bought a $300 seafood tower intended to serve an entire table of people, and matched that with bottle after bottle of wine, while the other people in the place just stared at us. Everyone can keep up with everyone financially to a certain extent, we all have the same interests, alcohol, rock and roll, camping, vacation, fast cars, spending money.

But then with my wife's business travel, and this new fucking job, which is INSANELY demanding for a WFH customer service phone queue job...

I've just been like, "I don't want to do anything this weekend but sit by the pool and listen to music," which has been offending my wife.

You never got offered an interview at the place I referred you to?

That is crazy. At first I struggled there - but I'm starting to really get my head around it. With better training and a little bit better organization and management - it would be way less of a burn-you-out job.

There are some weird politics in the team too. It is heavily estrogen dominated - so... there seems to be a lot of drama and weird interpersonal positioning.

Ah, that gives context that makes your facebook posting make a lot more sense.

Tim got me sick and I think I spread it to everyone at the poker game so you're probably better off for not showing up, but if you're at all interested it's a low stakes game that's an excuse for hanging out.  It's fun, and infrequent, about every six weeks or so.

I'm moved into my new place and still have no internet so I'm using my phone as a hotspot, but that's not good enough for most work from home options.

Yes, you may have noticed that my Facebook activity has dropped drastically. The job pays decent, and once you get your head around the work, it isn't that terrible - but I'm really in a "part time" work part of my career - so I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to stick it out with this role - as it is more than 40 hours a week, guaranteed.
