It doesn't seem like there is talk about a wonderswan core. Is there a core in progress for the MiSTer?

Subject: Looking to get a MiSTer and have a few audio related questions.
I've been considering getting a MiSTer to go with my old VGA CRT monitor but it doesn't have built in speakers. I don't have the space for a set of stereo speakers or a large soundbar in my setup and have looked into either using a mini soundbar or headphones as an alternative. I've heard that the analog audio output from the MiSTer is not that great and I was wondering what steps I would need to take to get decent audio for my space limited setup without having to spend too much money.
I'm not familiar with a lot of audio equipment and terminology so any links for recommended equipment or learning resources would be greatly appreciated.

I tried posting this in the official forums, but after a few weeks, no replies so trying here.
I have my MiSTer fully updated using the "update all" script.
I have two 8bitdo M30 2.4Ghz controllers.
For some reason, my MiSTer identifies the same controller as "primary" no matter the order I turn them on in or which USB port they're plugged into. (I can work with this, but still a little annoying)... would prefer it would ID the primary based on the order turned on in, but okay.
The main issue though is that my MiSTer ALWAYS states that controller #2 is "undefined" any time I try to use it. The only solution I've found is (with the MiSTer on), unplug and replug the USB dongle for controller #2, then MiSTer can ID the controller and use it. If I power off and on... then it's back to being "undefined".
A few times this has stuck for a few days, but eventually (maybe after an update?) it's back to not being defined and I have to replug the dongle again.
Thoughts ideas?? I'd like to keep both dongles plugged in at all times and then simply have MiSTer work with either one at any time. A little confused why this isn't already happening by default.
Thank you.

Subject: New to FPGA gaming... why do some of us choose to introduce lag with wireless controllers when so much work is put into reducing it from traditional software emulation?
It doesn't seem as clear cut as CRT vs LCD where regardless of response times, some people just prefer the look of one type of display over the other.
But with wireless controllers, are the cables really worth the extra time introduced or is it so negligible compared to HW vs SW emulation?
