Is it possible to permanently save controller / keyboard remapping on a per-game basis on the MiSTer? It would be very handy on systems with a broad range of control schemes, such as the C64.

Subject: What's the mouse lag situation on a MiSTer emulating Amiga?
Thinking about maaaybe getting a MiSTer, not to replace my real Amigas but to complement. But how good is the emulation? I completely stopped using WinUAE years ago and went back to hardware just because I couldn't sort out the mouse lag (among a plethora of other things) but the MiSTer being so versatile, perhaps I could get back to [hardware] emulation once again. But then there can not be any sort of input lag of any kind.

Subject: No desktop audio when capturing footage from MiSTer FPGA system on Streamlabs OBS
Hey guys. I recently got the MiSTer FPGA system and it works great however when I stream and capture video from this directly through the Elgato HD60 S+ Game Capture Card, I get no desktop sound or headphone sound on Streamlabs OBS from the MiSTer video footage (the MiSTer gameplay sounds works fine directly from my monitor).
When I stream my viewers say they can hear the MiSTer FPGA gameplay sounds but I don't hear them what so ever whether it's via desktop audio (speakers) or from my headphones on Streamlabs OBS.
I believe it's a problem from the MiSTer FPGA system somewhere as the MiSTer Gameplay sounds work fine on the Elgato HD60 S+ (in Streamlabs OBS) when connected to other consoles like my PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
Can anyone help me out here?
All replies much appreciated.

![]() | I ordered my DE10-Nano from Digikey.es as I live in Spain. Orger came through super fast, I got it here in just 2 days. Shipping apparently though was from the USA and as such extra custom charges were applied. All in all I paid 139 Euros for it, 112 for the DE10 and 27 for import taxes, shipping via UPS and it was free. The only downside on all of this is that the power adapter i received its not an european one, its a US one. I wrote Digikey to see if this was intended as I though ordering the device from the .es website they should have kept this into consideration and maybe add an european adapter if not a whole new power brick. Will update the post once they come back to me with a reply. [link] [comments] |
I'm a father now so don't have much time to tinker anymore. My goal is to play console games. NES, SNES, Genisis mostly. Is MiSTer right for me?
I see that there is an Analog and Digital option. Is there any downside to getting the analog option since it seems I can still use digital. I've read if going Digital frees up 40 extra pins for "future usage". How probable is there gonna be any future usage utilizing the pins for this device?
Is there an updated MiSTer hardware or alternative to MiSTer that is in the works now that I should hold off for?
I live in Canada, where is the best place to buy a MiSTer?
Thanks in advance to anyone taking the time to answer my questions!!!!

Hello.
Friend wants to get in on MiSTer after seeing mine. He won't be using a CRT, so I'm thinking he's not needing the analog IO.
Debating between encouraging him to get the digital io board for the potential dual-channel RAM, or just f-it and get a bare fan mount PCB.
Another thought I had is, is getting neither and waiting for the aluminum case (as heatsink) to be in stock an option?
He'll mainly be on the AO486 cores and the 8- and 16-bit console and portable cores (Nin/Seg/NG), and Arcade, obvs.
Thoughts?

Looking for a MiSTer case, but not willing to pay $30-40 for a case worth $8-10. I swear the people selling on ebay are out of their minds. RPi cases are made from same materials but cost $5-10 on amazon with prime shipping. If someone has an extra case (or is willing to 3d print one), and wants to sell it to me at a reasonable price, PM me.

Hey everyone,
I'm only planning to build my own MiSTer in a minimalistic way firstly, only with HDMI output. I've seen multiple times that HDMI has latency at about 1 frame, that HDMI "buffering" at 1 frame or something like that.
Considering that a currently have a 1080p tv with 15-16 ms input lag in general (another 1 frame at 60 fps), does that basically mean that I'll get at least 2 frames of input lag combined with MiSTer through HDMI port?
If it is so, how on earth FPGA experience be that "authentic" and "lag-free" ,since software emulation already may provide with sub-frame lag and we have options such as runahead?
Please correct me if my undestandingis wrong, but 2 frames of lag (especially since 16 ms for LCD tv may be considered "good" and 8 ms "excellent" but it mostly refer to 120 hz TVs) doesnt' sound too optimistic...
