Hello, I am building my first Mister in the new year and have a question about IO boards.
I was wondering if there are any boards other than the digital IO board that allows for dual SD ram?

Anyone else finds the Pocket screen way too cramped for anything other than running portable cores? Would love a portable FPGA console with a screen as big as the Steam Deck's

Subject: Guide for optimal INI settings, for new features??
Is there info anywhere on what each setting does in the mister ini file and what the best setting to use, i have found old sources but they don't include a lot of the newer features like the HDR option and whats the difference between, integer resolution scaling, use core aspect ratio and integer resolution scaling, maintain display aspect ratio etc?

I recently got an Analogue Pocket and it opened my eyes up to the world of FPGA, I was wondering what is a good place to start learning for core development/porting? I have a decent background in coding and am looking for some good resources to start my journey

Subject: [Moderation Discussion] Should we change the rules regarding self-promotional content? If so, how?
![]() | Recently, basically every time I check my r/fpgagaming feed looks something like this: Today's top 8 posts, along with user reports as visible to a moderator. Which leaves me thinking that there's a disconnect between the way that I'm moderating and the kind of moderation that people (at least a vocal minority) want me to do. So here are my questions to you all: Are you happy with the way that self-promotional content is being moderated on r/fpgagaming? If not, how do you think they should change? Personally I've always felt like a little bit of self-promotion is healthy for this community. After all, there are a lot of people out there making cool stuff that we want to hear about, whether it's new hardware, fpga cores, bare-metal stuff, or related media. I figure there's really nothing wrong with someone who is making things for this community to just come by and share what they're doing. Despite it being something that many other subreddits outright ban, it feels pretty normal and useful to me. That's why I never delete posts or ban users who post their stuff on this subreddit, if they are on topic and otherwise follow the rules. But lately I've found that some of the videos that are being shared here are pretty divisive, not just in upvotes, but also in reports and comments. So... Should we ignore the haters and continue to allow all self-promotional content? Should we outright ban anything self-promotional? Or should we come up with some more new rules around self-promotional content? Let me know what you think. [link] [comments] |

Subject: Why are Analogue Pocket cores able to save games automatically but Mister cores cannot?
Over the past couple days I've accidentally lost hours of gameplay by not saving correctly on my Mister because I forgot to open the menu after saving SNES games. Why are the cores for the Analogue Pocket able to save automatically without having to open any menus but the Mister is not able to?

Subject: Suggestions for a good modern TV friendly to MiSTer and off-spec refresh rates?
I don't know if this is worth a thread but what is the best reasonably cheapest HDTV that's suitable for the MiSTer and is low latency and supports VRR? (or is at least friendly to off-spec refresh rates)
I watched the MLiG episode reviewing the LG C2 but it seemed to have as surprisingly high number of problems for retro and the C1 reviewed in the latter half seemed to be a lot better...yet it's sold out everywhere.
Has it been finally discontinued and all stock dried up? Are there better suggestions for retro that are well rounded for devices like the RetroTINK and MiSTer?
I'm only making this thread because it feels like this sort of thing is kind of under researched and not talked about often when recommending newer TVs, it can feel like a gamble for anything that isn't and newer console

I purchased a Mister build w the Digital IO board primarily for the ability to expand RAM. However, I recently purchased a multisync bvm.
I want to be able to split between the two. Can I do this with the Digital IO version or will I need to switch to the standard board? Can an Extron or my Denon X3400 work to split between the two displays?
Thanks!
