Subject: Is there really anyway to know if an HDMI to VGA converter has the AG6200 chip (+ question regarding VGA to SCART)?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I already purchased this converter to use with the MiSTer over Direct Video:
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00NBUTHJG?psc=1&smid=AJ0L91KOBUX7C&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp

Feels like a bit of a crapshoot since apparently a lot of these things don't have the right chip for compatibility. I went by a forum post here: https://www.misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=631&start=25. Hoping I won't have to buy more than one of these things to find one that works. How do I know if it isn't working properly?

Also, would I be correct in going with one of etim's VGA to SCART adapters (https://etim.net.au/shop/shop.php?crn=220&rn=582&action=show_detail#) if I have a PAL CRT (RGB modified), rather than the HD15-2-SCART (https://castlemaniagames.com/products/rondo-products-hd15-2-scart?ref=w9_zngec1o_) or Analogue Nt mini / DAC / MiSTer FPGA Project PACKAPUNCH PRO RGB SCART Cable (https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/analogue/analogue-nt-mini-rgb-scart-cable-packapunch) ?

Subject: Commodore 64 core issue

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hopefully this is an easy one. US / NTSC setup, running RGBs out to a trinitron. All consoles and arcades I've tried change modes and work fine, except for the c64 core which scrolls like it's out of sync.

I might be off the mark but it seems like it's trying to display PAL and the trinitron isn't having any part of it.

Is there a setting I can toggle to set c64 up for NTSC VIC-II (and maybe also choose SID revision(s))?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Was starting my build process, and all the Amazon sellers have the older version, plus many of the online MiSTer shops are UK. Who is you all’s favorite US site for reliability?

Subject: What are some good 3 player games on MiSTer?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hey all, a couple of friends and I get together every Saturday evening for game night. I bring my MiSTer for when we want to do some Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo king-of-the-hill style, first to six wins being victorious. We've had quite a bit of fun with this and they're curious as to what else we can play on the system. I haven't had my MiSTer for long so I'm still learning about the various game libraries available. Any intel on some 3 player games would be greatly appreciated.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Just going by the number of controllers supported and input latency performance, it seems like something that should be talked about more, but I mostly see mention of SNAC, DaemonBite or Raphnet. How come?

Subject: PC Engine CD games go in TGF16-CD folder ?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

For MiSTer? I ask because the folder is visible in windows on my micro SD but in mister under consoles its not there.

Sure its a simple solution, I'm just setting my mister up for first time

Subject: MisterFPGA Dodonpachi black screen, help?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Bought a mister solely to play ddp and maybe some other vertical shmups

Got a few console cores working, but I think I’m missing something with arcade.

My mister came preconfigured, so i just ran the update script and then dragged my dodonpachi folder to the mame folder under root/games/mame.

When i launch i get a black screen. Theres no option to load anything. I’m running via hdmi into an led computer monitor.

I think thats all the info i can provide. Please let me know if i should be more specific. Really want to get this up and running.

Subject: NES core on mister doesn’t show the door in SMB3?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Anyone else have this issue where the door in castles in SMB3 doesn’t show in the NES core on mister? I thought I was nuts at first but checked a second rom I have and same thing. I’m colorblind so sometimes stuff is off and I don’t notice but the whole door is missing. Shows up in all-stars on the snes core. I haven’t noticed any other color issues in the NES core til now.

Subject: Neo Geo core issues

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Seems this is a common issue of confusion when first setting up neo geo on mister, I see dozens of posts about this but not sure of the solution still.

I have a new mister.

Flashed newest mister fusion a few days ago, then ran update all script.

Downloaded the neo darksoft set.

All game files are in their own folders named correctly.

When I launch the core all the games show up in the list but when i open one there is no visible game file to launch.

In games/NEOGEO folder I have ...

games in correctly named folders...

files...

"000-lo.lo"

"uni-bios.rom"

"sfix.sfix"

"neo-epo.sp1-AES_BIOS"

"sp-s2.sp1-MVS_BIOS"

I dont have romlist.xml and thought update all script was suppossed to put it there?

I go to github and theres nothing to click to download the romset.xml file, I just see the actual xml on the screen......Do I just copy and paste it to notepad and save as romset.xml ?
