Subject: Best Micro SD Card Size and Best Way to use original controllers?
I'm thinking of going with a 512gb micro to 'future proof' the Mister whenever the PS1 and Saturn cores are (hopefully) released, suggestions? And are Daemonbite adapters the best way to use original controllers with minimal lag? I've heard the Blisster/SNAC is becoming outdated and USB has a bit more lag. What do you guys think?

Subject: MiSTer 'must haves' not covered by the Update All script?
I use the Update All script to grab 'official' cores and Arcade titles from archive.org. Am I missing any Arcade titles that the script can't get hold of, or perhaps other cores where the creator hasn't allowed them into the script .ini or whatever?
I also know there is a Linux desktop build (LXDE) that can be installed.
What else am I missing?
What does the script miss?

Subject: NEC PC-FX - The Successor to the PC-Engine - fingers crossed we get a core soon!
Subject: Has anyone done business with u/zerohimself lately? I’ve ordered from him before and in July I ordered several hundred dollars worth of stuff from him. We had been chatting over email but I haven’t gotten my stuff and he’s been ghosting me for over a month. Maybe he’s not well?
I started from scratch on a new micro sd a few days ago, and I could no longer connect my Mad Catz STRIKE M keyboard. The pairing screen showed the keyboard with the message “ Skipping: non-input device”. I ran the update script this morning hoping the latest update would fix it, but now the keyboard does t show on the pairing screen at all. I’ve tried F11 and the bluetooth_pair script, same result. Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Daemonbite vs. MiSTer fork for DIY retro USB adapters?
I'm looking into making one or more DIY USB adapters for NES and/or SNES. Most discussions lead to Daemonbite's Github repo:
https://github.com/MickGyver/DaemonBite-Retro-Controllers-USB
But the official MiSTer wiki page for Selecting Input Devices links to an "official" (?) fork at:
https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Retro-Controllers-USB-MiSTer
The "official" (?) MiSTer fork is considerably different from Daemonbite's...some parts ahead, some parts behind. I may dig into the code to make more sense of the differences, but perhaps someone can shed light on this faster...
Is one repo better than the other?
For BONUS points: The code for the "SNES" adapter appears to support both SNES and NES controllers, and appears to do autodetection upon startup. If this is the case, why would anyone bother with the NES version?? It seems completely redundant.

Subject: Would a 5:4 ratio VGA monitor work with with Mister?
I have a 1280×1024 vga CRT monitor I picked up off the side of the road a while ago, and I've been very happy with it on my PC. However, with this monitor having a 5:4 aspect ratio, I was wondering if a MiSTer could accurately display 4:3 games on this monitor, with the correct pixel sizes and aspect ratio. Any help would be appreciated!

Subject: Ventilation and power requirements for a MISTER setup?
So I've been getting back into retro gaming trying to learn how to play using an arcade stick and I bought a hinged case to try out different joysticks. I got the idea to save up for an FPGA setup and turn it into an all in one. Can I get a power bank that would be able to power this and some 5V Arduino LEDs? I want to power and control the stick using a kaimana mini and a brooks board in the future, I'm using a cheap zero delay right now.
Parts listed below,
https://paradisearcadeshop.com/products/pc-zero-delay-encoder-pcb?_pos=1&_sid=5719ee0c6&_ss=r
I just want to get the De10 Nano with the Mister SD upgrade, maybe a cheap fan with heatsink for the main boards. Drill holes for vents and ports and use it as an all in one but I'm not sure if I can fit a power bank with everything else required or if the whole thing will heat up too much on my lap, I'm hoping you guys would have advice on how to handle the build.
I bought this, which apparently has freesync so I'm hoping the DE10 Mister will be as lag free as possible, looking for guidelines on a CRT less set-up.

I see comments that the De10 doesn't really need a heatsink or fan, but I'd like to be able to run neo Geo without it heating up too much or frying because I didn't how airflow works.
I will happily build a bigger case if needed, but I really like the idea of making a custom arcade stick all in one that isn't a shitty Pandora box, just don't know everything the project would entail.
Probably a more ridiculous question, but has anyone tried hooking up a virtual pinball solenoid flipper set-up with these? I might skip putting a power bank in there and use an external power supply to get simulated flippers for side buttons instead but I have no idea how integrated the virtual pinball community and FPGA are, I'm not into either. But as a curious hobbyist, I was wondering if anyone went down that rabbit hole? It's something stupid I might add if there's existing setups already.

Its possible to display 8:7 aspect ratio using firebrandx optimal settings? How? The image will be sharp and without shimmering?
8:7 is the internal pixel aspect ratio of snes, 256x224, and balls dont look oval like on crts
