Subject: MiSTer FPGA DE-10 Nano - Game Boy Advance Core Review and Setup Guide
Hello,
I just had a quick question. I'm trying to play some CPS1 games using the VGA out on the CRT without flipping the whole monitor. Is there a way to turn the tate mode off?

Subject: Examples of games that require or have the option of using dual SDRAM?
Most SDRAM add-ons are of the MiSTer SDRAM XS-D v2.5 type, with 2 SDRAM chips instead of one.
Can somebody point me to a game that makes use of that second SDRAM?

Subject: Is it possible to make the screen size for handheld cores (GBC, GBA, GG, WS) bigger with the analog out of the MiSTer IO board?
Hey all, I realize that the gorgeous Retroarch-style shaders (Royale, etc) obviously rely heavily on GPU/CPU power that the MiSTer is simply not designed for. Wondering if, even in concept, there might be possible an add-on board purely dedicated to processing the output before it reaches the display? A board that does nothing but apply a shader would surely be of interest to all HDMI users seeking the gorgeous achievements of the shader devs.

Subject: Ethernet NIC port no longer works on 1 week old Terasic DE10-Nano
I don't get it, initially It was working but now I cant get it to work anymore. I tried fresh install but same problem, I reboot my router, same thing, when I plug in the ethernet cable it quickly flashes but then goes off. I remember updating which took 15 minutes over ethernet so I know it worked before, but like I said even with fresh install it says No Network. Should I just return? I bought it from Amazon and its sold by the maker.

Recently I have been trying to get the Flynnsbit Top 300 Exodos pack working on my MiSTer and have run into several issues. Firstly, everytime I download the split ZIP files in the pack, I run into an issue unzipping the 14th part of the 300games vhd. I watch it unzip all the games fine and then throws the same error everytime during the last part. All of the files in the pack seem there, but everytime i load them onto my MiSTer it tells me I haven’t mounted the secondary VHD and stalls me at the E drive prompt. I have re-downloaded the pack multiple times from archive.org, even torrented the files from a different source to the same effect. Any help would be appreciated, Ive been working at trying to play Secret of Monkey Isle with my MT-32 pi and my daughter to no avail for like 2 weeks now, I feel like it shouldn’t be this hard.

What's the latest on this project?
I saw a little while back that Laxer3A had pulled out of the project but the Patreon is still live and has Subscribers despite the last post being in May. Is this project still alive?

Subject: When you buy a MiSTer Pre-configured Bundle (with Aluminum Case) from MiSTer Add-Ons does it come assembled or do you have to put it togeth?
Sorry if it's a dumb question, just wondering if the "Pre-configured" part refers to just the SD card or the unit as a whole.

So I've been enjoying my MISTer a ton but obviously want to see more on it. I know the Konami cores are in the works, CPS1, CPS1.5, and CPS2 are all amazing and I've got the Sega System I stuff too but is there a listing of all of the arcade cores available for it? Specifically I have been looking for Super Sprint and Ironman Super Off Road but can't find any info on them anywhere. So was wondering if there was site or page listing everything arcade-wise for the little wonder machine.

![]() | MT32-Pi MIDI version on left (mt32-pi-midi-hat), MiSTer version on right Because JLCPCB keeps selling me 5 boards for $2, I made this into a mini project. Got the BOM for everything except the OLED displays and DAC board from Digikey and soldered them up a while ago. So, like 99.9% of PC users in the 90's, I never had a decent MIDI device, or would have known what one sounded like back in the day. (True story, I had a WaveBlaster daughterboard attached to my Sound Blaster 16 and never knew to change to General Midi and 330 to take advantage of it. Just assumed it would work.) And while the built-in MIDI support in MiSTer is very nice to have, when playing MIDI with larger soundfonts on AO486 or Minimig I was getting dropped notes, crackling and distortion. Even with MUNT it didn't sound right and had problems. Offloading that to a dedicated Pi 3A+ fixed those problems. I had an issue where no combination of throughput settings or USB cables seemed to work with the OLED on the MiSTer version - even the on screen display was garbled. Also tried a 32x128 OLED with the same result. The screen on the midi-hat version works perfectly at stock settings. While either one is a fine option for improving your MIDI experience on the MiSTer, I'm going to call the mt32-pi-midi-hat the clear winner here. Yes, it's more complex, yes you have to purchase a USB to MIDI adapter, but given the option to change volume (a lot of games don't have volume controls for music), the improved sound quality, and the ability to use it on real hardware as well as the MiSTer put it squarely in the winner's spot for me. Note that you'll need speakers that support dual inputs or two sets of speakers, and that the midi-hat version does not output directly to the MiSTer while the MiSTer version does. If you stream and use an HDMI capture card you'll probably want the MiSTer version. I'd also recommend using a Pi 3B+ or Pi 4 with either unit, as the 3A+ only has 512MB of RAM and won't be able to load the largest soundfonts like Timbres of Heaven. (2GB Pi 4 is the largest I'd bother with, I don't think a bigger soundfont would play well on a Pi.) [link] [comments] |
Quick question; can you run sc-3000 games on the Mister? I am able to run the sg-1000 games just fine through the coleco core but don't know how to boot the 3000 games or if that is possible.
