Subject: What's the best way to connect a MiSTer to a cheap Toshiba CRT I got that only has composite inputs?
Got a crt for $20 today but it only has composite and RF inputs (no s-video, no RGB).
What's the best way to connect the MiSTer to this? I've got an IO board already.

Subject: Trouble getting PS4 controller to work with MisTer.
Like the title says. I have tried multiple usb cables and the controller works fine on pc. Never tried it bluetooth. Using a powered USB hub. Other controllers work just fine. Any suggestions?

Im thinking about getting Andretti basic MiSTER setup. I will use my modern hp display for now which has no speakers. I plan to hook MiSTER up to my stereo system (cinch input).
How do I do this with just the de-10 board? Do I split the hdmi signal? Or use another available output on the de-10? Or something else?/r/

With my MiSTer I have the official USB 2.1 board, and the USB bracket connector that connects it to the DE-10, in a vertical stack.
However, I want to put the setup into a case which is shorter; for that, I want to separate the USB board from the stack and mount it a few inches away.
Is there a cable that can connect from the 6-pins in an L-shape on the top of the USB board, to the micro-usb port on the DE-10? Or barring that, is there a schematic showing how such a cable would need to be wired?

I have a 3D TV, any chance MiSTer will support side by side video resolution output?
The frame perfect aspect of fpga physical modeling/emulation might need to be sacrificed, is it possible with some concession?
I just saw the new consolized Virtual Boy concept and got excited 🕶

Subject: Seems there are several HD15 to SCART cables to choose from but has anyone tried this GPIO version (RGB-MiSTer)? Seems about about the same price as any other quality cable.

So, I'm really not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I was curious, without any hardware except a camera like a webcam, is there any software, or combination of software I can use to set up an automatic obstacle avoidance scenario? Perfect example, in audiosurf, you come running into blocks. Can I set up a camera and software and camera so that the camera can detect those block, and automatically press left or right based on where they are?

Subject: How do I fix this "/tmp/script: line 5: /media/usb0/Scripts/wifi.sh: Permission denied" error when I select "Switch to USB", then "Scripts" and then "wifi"?
Hi, first time MiSTer user here. I know that my 64GB microsd card isn't up to the task of storing as many roms as possible, so I decided to use my 256GB USB Flash Drive to do that. Unfortunately, after running the update_all_linux.sh
script to set it up offline and copying the entire update_all directory to my 256GB USB Flash Drive, when I boot the MiSTer, select "Switch to USB", select "Scripts", and then select "wifi", it gives me this error: /tmp/script: line 5: /media/usb0/Scripts/wifi.sh: Permission denied
. I powered off the MiSTer, mounted my 256GB USB Flash Drive, read the Scripts/wifi.sh
file, and while I understand why the bash command ip link set wlan0 up
requires superuser privileges, my question to all of you is this:
How can I run the wifi.sh script on the MiSTer itself with superuser privileges? Does the MiSTer have superuser and / or root account(s)? If so, what are their default password(s) set to?
Or am I doing something wrong? Please tell me what I did wrong and how I could fix it, thanks.

Subject: Low entry cost to fpga gaming - does it exist?
All I know is it was being worked on, then dropped, but then maybe picked back up a few months ago. I can't seem to locate any current info, but maybe someone on a discord group has heard something?
Mostly I'm trying to decide between waiting or giving up and sourcing something like an HDMI mod and flash cart for my system.
Appreciate any info

Hey all, hope you're all doing well!
I recently have been getting into the MiSTer project and am enjoying it thus far, but running into a bit of a headache. I recently scooped up a monitor with a built in 14 pin VGA cable (pin 9 is missing, apparently) and am trying to connect to it using an HDMI to VGA adapter. I'm using an adapter that has been used by multiple other folks and apparently works like a charm (seen video a few times of it being used), but I am running into problems. I set my INI to have direct_video=1, but I just get no signal after saving those settings. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?
Thanks again, all!
Edit - to clarify, it is a MAG Innovision CRT Monitor (Model 786n)
