Subject: What voltage Arduino for DaemonByte adapters?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So, looking on Amazon for the Arduino Pro Micro, I'm finding some rated 3.3v / 8MHz and some 5v / 16MHz. Which of the two should I be getting for making adapters?

Subject: Analogue Duo vs MiSTer

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Is there any compelling reason I should try and get an Analogue Duo? I already have a MiSTer... I don't have any cards or CDs for that system.

The MiSTer already does what the Duo will do correct? Or am I mistaken?

About the only thing I can remotely come up with is that it might be beneficial to have a jailbroken Duo since it can read discs.

Am I forgetting some other reason for getting one?

Subject: Why doesn't anyone seem to care about anti-static protection when building Mister?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I was always told that handling ICs without proper antistatic protection risked damaging the chip, reducing lifespan and/or causing improper operation.

Yet on Youtube it seems almost all presenters of how-to guides happily pickup SDRAM chips and other sensitive components without any protection at all. I've even seen people tapping on the FPGA chip itself while explaining what it does!

Has the science simply moved on with regards to ESD or do people just not care?

Subject: Best way to hook MiSTer up to 2.1 ch k360 soundbar

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have a soundbar I bought on sale a few years ago. Has optical in + 3.5mm + BT. I remember trying it with Retropie and using the 3.5mm port, and it sounded amazing. Now I wanna try it with MiSTer.

By getting an Analog IO board, would I be able to just use a standard 3.5mm cable, and get audio out from MiSTer that way? Supporting 2.1channel?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So I got the I/O board and i had to get the noctua fan because it does not come with a fan. The mounting parts from noctua don't even fit in the holes at all. Where can I buy the proper bolts and nuts ans washers?

Subject: New 8bitdo Pro 2 Controller latency

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Not gonna lie, the gray one looks ugly af. I hear 8bitdo is under new business ownership which is why it's being mismanaged. They decided to stop making retro 2.4G controllers. They screwed up the color scheme for their pro controllers.

Has anyone tested the latency on the new controllers? Thinking of either getting the Black one, or the GB colored one. Purchase will ultimately depend on the latency of these controllers.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Just run the "update all" script recently on my MiSTer and notice that the sound in the Cave´s DoDonPachi is really messed up. I had to replace the .mra and .rbf and the problem with the audio still there? any ideas to solve this issue?

Thank you for reading.

Subject: CPS2 will_not_work.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

So I got the .rbf files by giving Jotaro the $3. I put the rbf file in the right folder. I put the mra files in the right folder. I ran update_all (not update, update_all). Ive tried putting the "known working" Darksoft ROMs into _Arcade/mame, _Arcade/CPS2, _Arcade/_CPS2, _Arcade/games /games/CPS2.

I guess its just me and I'm dumb. Whatever. I got Neo Geo games to work just fine. But this CPS2 thing is not working. Every time I try to run Alien vs Predator to test - I get a black screen and have to pull power.

Can someone just tell me where the ROMs go. I dont want to download them, I already have them. Just tell me A/B/C/Games/whatever please.

Subject: Finding add ons and cases in canada?

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

is there anyone in canada that makes mister parts and cases? especially a case that's just the base de10 nano with ram board added and fan?. looking at ebay and all I can see is 50 dollar acrylic cases from the uk and USA.

also what is the boards consensus on parts made from china? I found an IO board and usb hub for a decent price but am a little worried about quality control.

Subject: AO486 - Code Page Operation Not Supported

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

seem to be getting a code page operation not supported on this device, 'device error during select'? help?

Installed DOS6.22, and MisterFS to mimic a ‘shared’ drive for file import, works great. But now making a memory menu ‘on startup’ after Changing the autoexec and config files I get this error.

Any AO486 users with knowledge on this please?
