They never go for dual authentication, and they don't understand that a longer password is always better than a short one with weird characters.

They never did get held up to the question of whether their product is the physical media or the data on it.
If they're selling the disc as a physical product, then copying is fair use.
If they're selling the content, then they need to provide replacements of damaged copies (or even format upgrades) at no or minimal cost.

They've always asserted that they're just selling a license to use the content on the media - that you don't own it. Has it never been challenged one way or the other?
I've bought AC/DC Back In Black so many times. Broken tapes, lost tapes, stolen tapes - that I figure I'm entitled to a life-time fucking copy of it. I've paid my dues and bought the boys a couple of grams of blow. They're on their own from here on out.
Yeah, I figure if I've paid for more than one copy of something that I'm pretty much justified in having a copy no matter what happened to my physical copy.

Meh, it's probably one or two people with a melange of personality disorders. Maybe very high Orderliness and very low Agreeableness.
OH MAN, have you taken the Big Five Personality Assessment? I'll buy you a code from UnderstandMyself.com if you're interested. Doesn't take long but it's really cool to see how the most scientific approach to personality to date can peg you on certain things. I bet you have very, very low agreeableness. Mine is way below average. My peculiarities are extremely high intellectualism and extremely low neuroticism and conscientiousness: a lazy genius, lol.
I bet my agreeableness is actually pretty high. In real life, I like everyone to get along and I put a lot of effort into making sure everyone is having a good time.

These kind of tests - first off - I am somewhat psychotic on answering. It depends on my mood. I also tend to second guess if I am answering to game the results. I'm never really sure what an "honest" answer is.

Haha! Sounds like you're actually the one who can't tell if he's lying. If you actually want the assessment, all you have to do is be forthright. I guess "know thyself" is a step-by-step deal.
And I'm the same way with people. I'm gregarious and lively and want everyone to have a good time. But that's actually the trait called Extraversion. You don't actually consider aligning your opinions with others' to get along like high Agreeableness people do. You're not "impressionable." If you go along to get along, it's a temporary and deliberate strategy.

Well, see... there is the rub. I am actually, despite what people think - introverted. I'd rather sit in the back yard by myself and listen to music and drink beer by myself on a weekend. That is my ideal way to kill time. I don't honestly like people. I'm terrible about private messages - responding to them. I prefer to sit in a dark room and play on a computer all day. But in a crowd - I know that the easiest way to make sure it is enjoyable is to fight my nature and turn into David Lee Roth - and entertain and engage and get people to connect. When I have to do it, I'm good at it. Like an introvert though - after a burst of this kind of activity - I really need downtime away from everyone.
I'm *not* agreeable in the sense that I am actually aligning myself with other people. I'm absolutely faking it - I like it when my opinions make impressions on other people.
I guarantee you - these kind of tests, when they're accurate, generally identify myself as a narcissist if they're being kind. :)

I know - but I try and keep my hubris quiet around mostly like-minded folks. I like to turn it on full blast around those I disagree with though. You don't visit Facebook or Twitter, so you haven't seen that - but others here can attest - it is an amusing show to witness. :)
