Subject: Paint peeling on 5 series G30

The paint on the passenger fender and side skirt has started to peel. I raised this up with my local BMW centre and they said that they can’t do anything under warranty as the paint is only covered for a 3 year period. I have also contacted BMW UK and they also stated the same. I did a paint thickness test and the figures are the exact same as the drivers fender indicating that it hasn’t been resprayed. Is there anything else I can do in order to get BMW to approve the repairs for free? The car is only 5 years old.

The 2024 builder has gone live on BMW's USA website.

More importantly, I think the most notable update here is that the 430i option packages in the US are no longer handicapped in comparison to the 3-series. For 2023 models, you could not get Harman Kardon audio in the xDrive version, so you basically had to choose between upgraded audio, or AWD. And neither the xDrive or RWD 2023 430i was able to be optioned with Driving Assistant Pro, which had lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, which are becoming standard these days. Now, you are able to spec out the 430i with xDrive, Harman Kardon audio, and Driving Assistant Pro. Comes out to about $57k minimum though.
