So I’m six months into owning a 2011 335i (LeMans Blue E92 M-Sport PKG 6MT) with an N55B30M0 going on 93XXX miles. I’ve been doing some research on building my car and I’ve found that there’s “not much” I could/should do besides simple FBO like sparks and coils etc…. reason being that the engine isn’t as strong compared to the newer N55 motors (the B30O0 and B30T0).
I was very disappointed at the fact (like damn I should have got one with the N54 or bought an F30 with a B58 although I like coupes over sedans) but I really enjoy my car as it is but aim to go faster and also have a good car in the long run as well.
Could one such as myself swap the internals such as the S55 piston heads and forged crankshaft in my variant N55 engine. Including everything else that would come in the B30T0 variant. Also is it possible to do a open deck to closed/semi-open deck conversion. Would all that be ethical and make sense at all? Do enlighten me because this is something new I want to try out and research that’ll be good in the long run.

Im tryin to buy an M2. It has the compound brakes. Does anyone know if its possible to change it to the normal brake ? If yes, what has to be done: Just Pads and disc or more ?
The compound brake is very expensive to replace so it would be a deal breaker
