I drive a 2011 335i E90 with n55 No lights on dash or scanner connection

I was in a small accident and the steering wheel and passenger side curtain deployed. At first I had dash lights but no start.

I have replaced the following: Airbags BST Starter The battery drained but charged back good Checked fuses behind passenger dash

Interior lights come on the doors can be unlocked with key fob but not locked. Trunk is not working but the windows are. Checked voltage at the jump point and it was 13.6. I omh out the Ibs and it’s closed.

When I hook up the scanner it comes back that it cannot connect but I don’t think my ignition is not turning on either. Any suggestions would be great, do I need to replace the ECU?

So my 05 530i (Manual) has a weird issue.

At idle cold start RPM’s jumping up and down slightly when in neutral, car shakes a bit randomly like it’s an engine mount but it’s not.

Drives just fine until I hit 4k RPM then I can head and feel it sputtering, slows down the acceleration power. It sputtering unless I’m taking off from a dead stop, or going over 4k RPM in any gear.

Trying to see what could be the issue. Haven’t ran codes yet, but the “service engine soon” light is currently on.

It’s just weird because if I’m at say 3k RPM on highway it’s totally normal. But idling, taking off from a red light, or accelerating over 4k RPM without shifting to next gear causes sputtering.

Any idea what to check first? Thanks!

I went and test drove a 2018 M550 and a 2020 M340 yesterday fully expecting to prefer the 340. I was a little disappointed in the 340 and surprisingly much preferred the 550. Granted this was just a quick 10 minute drive on both but the 550 was more comfortable, quicker throttle response, and that noise…

Seems like the biggest pro to the 340 is the reliability of the I6 engine vs the V8 in the 550. Anything else I’m missing?

Looking to upgrade from a 2019 F20 120i shadow to something a little more fun.

I've looked at both the M140i and 340i, and outside of the obvious hatchback Vs saloon, I'm trying to decide if the 3 series is worth the premium over the "mlite" 1 series.

As the numbers stand: - One independent dealer is offering the M140i for my 120i+5k on top. This comes with an independent 6 month warranty. - A BMW dealership is offering a 340i for the 120i+9k and this comes with a 12 BMW warranty.

Additional info:

I have another family car (SUV) but the new car will need some practicality in case I do have to take the kids on errands. Both the M140i and 340i are 2018 shadow edition models with similar spec and mileage at around 30k.

I do like the practicality and nimbleness of a small hatchback, but feel the 3 series will is a little more grown up and may handle slightly better due to the longer wheelbase?

Didn’t notice some ice on top of wiper blades. Tried to turn on wipers. Strained a bit then stopped. Now I’m not getting any wiper movement after fully clearing the area. Any chance the wiper motor would burn out so easily?

I am new here, and I just got low mileage 2010 N55 535i

Its stock, only 60k miles on it, soft close doors and all the bells and whistles.

Its still on its original 17'' wheels with meaty 225/55/17 tyres

Coming from a JDM performance car that was stiff but on rails, this feels very wobbly.

And it is to be expected, this is not a track toy, but an executive cruiser, which is fine.

I would still like to get some of the wobblyness out, so I am considering a set of new wheels.

Because I am completely oblivious to the brands and types out there, would you be able to recommend what wheels should I go for? My car is Silver and its not M packet car.

I will be happy for any tips around the car in general if you have any outside of the wheels:)
