Subject: F30 328i rattling.

I have a 2012 328i, n20 engine. I recently put a catless downpipe, and since then, I hear a rattling both during cold start and while ACCELERATING. The rattle while driving is mostly noticeable when passing by parked cars or if driving beside a concrete wall on the highway. The sound does get better as I drive the car a while (and the exhaust elements heat up) and then If I Turn on the sport mode the rattling disappears.

My setup: Catless downpipe from RM Motors & Magnaflow muffler (without exhaust flap). Rest of the exhaust is stock (midpipe, resonator).

Thought it was wastegate rattling, wrapped the wire on the actuator arm to eliminate the play. Also checked „mushroom” wastegate in the manifold (had to take off the dp) - No play/rattle. Also tried to adjust wastegate on the arm - didnt help.

Do you guys have any idea what it could be..? The sound comes from the passenger side, at the bottom of the downpipe. I cant hear the rattle when I open the hood. Does it sound like exhaust leak for you? vid

Just got my 2 series back after a warranty repair for replacement rear lights.

Not sure if its just a coincidence but I’ve now noticed the bonnet sits higher on the passenger side than it does the drivers.

I just picked up a 2020 M340i a few days ago. RWD, 14k miles. Whenever the car is parked, engine on/idling. I can feel a light vibration like its coming from under me from the exhaust. And its enough to affect me. I had the car on a lift to see if something may be loose from the exhaust area... then I found out the exhaust is on the passenger side. No AC/heat on and it still vibrates. Any ideas what it could possibly be?
