Subject: Individual color suggestion.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Hi everyone! I'm looking into color suggestions, not sure the visualizer is very accurate, so I am turning to you to suggest a few paints.

I am looking for a sort of steel or slate blue that looks greyish blue, a modern technical color, that looks understated.

The car I am considering is an X6 M sport 4.0i.

Thanks!

Manufacturing dual projector housing

Not too long ago I’ve built a dual projector headlights for my e38 with minimal modifications and fairly cheap in comparison to what shops are asking to do this job.

To keep this post short, I want to find out if anyone would want to do the same with their car as a DIY kit for your existing headlights?

I’ve since got a 3D printer and I’m thinking of taking my headlights out and printing cable connectors and including resistors to kill the flickering without coding the checks out.

The kit would include all the instructions, adapters for a snug fit and a cable adapters for plug and play DIY project.

Thoughts?

Subject: Bmw 328i 2008 m Sport suspension

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I recently got a bmw 2008 with about 96k miles on it, the car is super low and I knew this when I got it but I recently went to a normal oil shop to do the maintenance on the car and the guys couldn’t do it because my car couldn’t go over the floor pit they have, that’s how low it is and it was super frustrating, on top of that every time I go over bumps or anything crazy my car sounds insane, I am currently running low profile tires on it as well, the guy who I got it from had 20s on it and that’s what I’m running now too even tho I have plans to change the rims to 19s. I guess my question will be does anybody has any advice on how do I lift my car up and I’m able to keep the stiffness on the corners and the sporty feel of it, because when I turn the car has little to no body tilt so I would like to keep that, however I definitely need to lift the car up a bit and I need a more comfortable ride since it’s my daily. I’ve been hearing bilstein b6 or b4 but I don’t know how much higher it will make the ride. First bmw i own so I’m a rookie at this. Please let me know thank you.

Subject: Accuracy of Navigation/Traffic Service

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I've been driving BMW's for a short time, 6 years or so (currently in a 2019 X3)....but within the last year or so I've noticed the built in navigation has been absolute garbage. ETAs are often off by as much as 50%...no route redirections, missing congestion spots, slow to identifying which road I'm on, and so on.

The ETA inaccuracy is what really gets me. A common trip of mine will begin by saying it will take say 32 minutes but it'll be 55 minutes before I even get there, with no course correction. It's not like I'm in a small town with only one route, 6 months ago I was in Dallas and now i'm in Denver. Plenty of opportunity for route adjustments. It's not uncommon for me to ignore the nav, take my own route, and watch it adjust the route AFTER i change it...and then give me an earlier ETA than originally provided.

Is this a known issue? I've gotten fed up and switch to Carplay for navigation which means I don't get to see the nav in the HUD (I know, first world problems)....but damn.
