Subject: Out of the blue my iDrive stopped working. No parkingsensors, no radio, no bluetooth, no pings from seat belt etcetra. Is someone familiar with this issue?
Subject: Should I finance now or wait it out a bit longer? (First BMW)
I know that question is just extremely open-ended because no one can time the market...but I'd like to get some input from the community.
I sold my WRX early 2022 and have managed to get by with just a single car for my SO and I. I've been looking again over the past few days and I "semi" decided that I should finally buy the make I've wanted my entire life, a BMW.
While I'd love to purchase a M3 or M5, I know for a fact that it would be an extremely stupid financial decision. I've test driven a M340i and my goodness it's just a beauty and feels great.
For the sake of having warranty and additional warranty, I've strictly been looking at CPO's since there is the 1 additional year of warranty (and 3 months no payments if I buy before 01/31/2023.)
Between my SO and I our annual gross income is roughly $135k and our expenditures come out to approximately 60% of that each month. (That includes everything, including an existing loan where we have over $10k equity)
I've done the math and here is what I am expecting to spend monthly for a vehicle:
Monthly Max: $780 (0.095% of monthly net income)
Interest rates SUCK so bad right now, even my local CU is only offering 5.68% over 72 months and that is assuming perfect credit. I called my local BMW dealer and had the guy give me some numbers. Based on a $45k-$50k loan with $4,000 down, I'd be looking at a APR between 5.9% - 8.9% for TOP TIER credit. But what the hell does Top Tier even mean? My Experian FICO is a 733 as of today but then my normal TU and Equifax are 813 and 805 respectively...so I have no clue where my APR range would fall with BMW FS.
I found a 2020 M340i with 12k miles in another state and they could ship it for $725. But the purchase price is about $2k higher then what would allow my budget to work. Is there any negotiating available or is the market pretty much AS-IS for the time being?
