What would be a reasonable price for an x5m in a reasonable condition, i am aware most of them are beat up. Was thinking of 12-15 grand maybe? In my country there isnt one for less than 22k, which i think is totally unreasonable. What are your thoughts and if there are any expensive repairs i should be aware of?

Currently got a G20 330e, which I love but I’m not getting on well with the PHEV concept for a number of reasons. Though the power it has is immense!

Couple of months ago I was debating calming it down and downgrading to a 320i or upgrading to an M340i. But then unfortunately spun my 330e out in wet conditions and made me a bit nervous about having all that performance.

Ordered a 320i after that, but everywhere I look, I was getting the M340i rubbed in my face and was really gutted I didn’t order one. I’ve always wanted a performance car before we’re forced to go electric, it’s quite in my budget and all in I know it’ll be a fantastic car.

Now I’ve just cancelled my 320i due to chip shortages meaning most of the M Sport features wouldn’t be available like adaptive suspension.

I really don’t know if this is a sign that instead of getting my deposit refunded, put it towards an M340i.

But I also don’t know if it’s a good idea with a baby on the way. Girlfriend keeps telling me it probably isn’t the best idea having all that performance especially as my daily and I’ll just be prompted to race all of the time, which I can’t argue with..also practicality of the saloon car anyway?

Any advice?

Hey guys. New here to bmw world and learning what I can over the past year. I’m about to buy either a m240i with x drive or a Supra 3.0 premium. I’ve tested them both and they’re both close in price. There’s things I like and dislike about both. Supra: love the looks and it makes me smile every time. But challenge getting in to and only 2 seats though faster. M240i x drive: 4wd, more comfortable, back seats. Doesn’t get me nearly as excited as the Supra. I live in Atlanta if that gives a idea on driving conditions.

I want peoples opinions on this. Things you love or hate about both. especially those of you that have owned either or both. Thanks

M340i is unquestionably the better option in every regard possible. Maybe besides maintenance costs and (perhaps) insurance?

However with the recent price cuts, on top of the $7500 EV credit, it almost seems “irresponsible” to not take advantage. Economically I can opt to not do anything, but I do need a new car, and I’ve had my eye on M340i for a while. Before a couple days ago, never thought about a Tesla.

Also, I’m not crazy about a Tesla. I’m coming from 2015 Chevrolet so I’d like to experience fun driving at least once. Perhaps I get the M3P and opt to offload it in 1-1.5 years? M340i’s are not going anywhere, but the tax credit might.

Additionally, I’m not bashing Tesla. What gives me anxiety is having to navigate a slight amount to account for charging. I live in an apartment. Totally different story if I’m in a house. The apartment has charging stations but I don’t know how good they are. Also there’s road trips, but I have been reading if you do a small amount of prep, it’s not that much out of the way.
