First off, thanks again to everyone who provided some guidance/insight in my original post. A few people asked that I update with what happened.
Backstory: Low oil pressure sensor, dealership told me I need a new engine after finding metal shavings in my oil filter.
Thankfully, I only needed a new oil pump (as someone had correctly predicted). The service manager is supposed to call me on Monday with a rundown of how that was determined. A couple days ago he told me that contrary to what I was told originally, they did NOT find any metal shavings in my oil filter. The SA I saw today, who was the one who told me about the metal shavings, said they did find shavings. I told him the service manager said they hadn't and he said he wasn't sure because the manager was the one handling it with BMW. Lots of fun.
My lease expires in 12 days and I'm debating buying it out because I have equity in it, but this whole thing concerns me and I'd like to have some reassurance that there wasn't any damage to the engine.
I have the high-gloss black interior trim, and as lovely as it is, it gets scratched like crazy. In the five months I have owned it, it already has a few scratches that I have no idea how got there. Anyways. I know there is the M Performance Interior Matte Carbon Fiber trim, and I'm looking to get it, but I want to see if it's worth $1900 Canadian after taxes. I wouldn't say I like the scratches on the trim's interior, but at the same time, I know I could get it paint corrected and apply PPF on it, most likely costing the same amount as the new trim.
