Subject: Wannabe Wednesday: What BMW do I get? Is this a good deal? What should I watch out for? | A weekly BMW buying megathread
What BMW should you get? Not sure if it's a good deal? Unsure what are some common issues with that generation/model year car? Ask here! Any posts related to buying a used or new BMW belongs and is welcome here.
More general subreddits are also available for this information: /r/WhatCarShouldIBuy, /r/UsedCars and /r/AskCarSales.
Please try to include any pertinent information such as links to the sales listing, photos of the car, location, etc. We are not crystal ball reading genies, the more information, the better!
Helpers: Please try to substantiate your claims. Rather than just simply "no, not a good deal", try to provide some context into why, as your reasoning might not be relevant to the asker. e.g. "This is a bad deal as this car is known to have issues at 60k miles, and it's already at 59k." would be helpful, but obviously not required.

I have been interested in a G42 M240i and there is no stock in the area I live, which is pretty large (Dallas/Fort Worth). Do you think we will see more new or used G42 M240i’s at dealerships in the coming year?

I am in the market for a 2020 M340i and I’m aware that many of these cars have a speed limiter of 130mph. I did some research and found out all M340s that came with run flat all season tires have this governor on it
My question is- is there a way to know which ones do not have the speed limiter?
I see some listings on Cars.com that say Tires: Speed Rating: Y , with staggered setup and 255 width in the rear. These ones are Run-flat Performance
The other ones say 225 width, Tires: Speed Rating: V, and these are the all-seasons
Is this a clear way to know whether or not the car has the speed limiter? If not how would I find out? Thanks

Subject: 3 Series Chip Shortage and xDrive Discontinued
Absolutely gutted. Ordered a new 320i about a month ago and was awaiting to see if I could have xDrive as my dealer told me they’re discontinuing it on the 3 series after cars built after March.
Got an email today saying he’s managed to secure me a build slot for one, great! But due to chip shortages I can’t have adaptive suspension.
I can’t even delay production because xDrive then won’t be available. But I feel like I’d hugely miss adaptive steering and suspension so no point spending £50k on a car that I’d know it was missing.
So I’m cancelling and back to the drawing board. Not sure which model I’m fancying instead now. Anyone else had similar problems with orders?
