Subject: Advice needed - I am thinking about buying my first BMW. The BMW M4
as the title says, I am considering buying my first BMW. I've liked the M4 for a while now and I am thinking about pulling the trigger.
I am looking for an used M4, and was wondering if there is any advice you guys could give me on common issues I should be aware of, and things I should be looking for when inspecting the car before purchasing?
Subject: Koasan idrive Replacement Screen
So my 2016 M235 has the notorious idrive screen delamination and bubbles. It is very difficult to find a replacement without dropping $2k for OEM with no added functionality. Fritz Ramos on YouTube has videos of him replacing with an Android unit made by Koasan. They have an older version on Amazon and newer directly on koasan' s dot com site. I tried to order and my credit card got flagged. Getting some sketchy vibes.
My question for the sub is does anyone have experience ordering from them? Bimmer-tech does not make a replacement for the F22 and an MMI box would.give me functionality but I would still have a bubble screen. People actually sell the busted screens on eBay for $350, crazy. Thanks in advance for any help.

Subject: Why do you prefer BMW over Audi or Mercedes? (New enthusiast here)
I’ve heard a lot of fan following behind the M power from BMW, is it the engines? My dream car is the 2012 C63 AMG because of its N/A V8 and the new Audi RS5 looks and sounds very sick. I’ve never had a liking towards M2-M5 cars because honestly, I don’t know anything about them. I’d appreciate it if you educate me on this and give me your reasons why you think it’s better or worse and why the fan following? I’m primarily interested only in the sporty sedans/ coupes- M2, M3, M4, M5, etc
Edit: I think BMWs are also better around the track but Audi is better on a drag strip for like a quarter mile because of the all wheel drive if I’m not wrong?

Subject: Starter problems
I have a 09 e92 328ix, I recently replaced the starter myself and it was working fine for a couple days. Then the car died again. I figured cause I got the starter from auto-zone that’s why it failed me. I got the duralast gold. What are some trustworthy places I could get a starter from? From personal advice or mechanic advice. All advice is welcome.

Subject: E39 xenon headlight moving
Hey, everyone, i’m not sure if my headlights are broken or not, but recently i took em out of my car and what i realised is that the plce where xenon bulb goes in, not sure how its really called, but looking from front its the big round clear glass ball, so i realised that the glass ball it sell is moving and it feels like its not connected to headlight housing at all, is that normal or the glass ball has to be connected to something? I hope u understood what i was trying to explain

Subject: Long term price floor for M2/4s?
These are fairly unique coupe models that I think will hold more value than M3s, and as a generation I think the 2016-2019 models are a perfect medium between the NA, metal valve cover, actually reliable and well built oldschool cool, and the modern pay a subscription for heated seats with big ole sniffer cool.
With the prices for 16-19 M2/M4s regularly dropping below 40k for clean examples, I'm curious what you expect the long term price floor for them to be?
Also, do you think the DCT will be significantly different than manuals?
Personally, I have never driven a DCT, but I know the ZF8s are amazing and I'd probably choose the ZF8 over DCT for long term ownership. I know manuals *generally* have the better sports coupe resale floors as old/used vehicles, but I think the current market shows that a lot due to how crappy the older autos were.

Subject: Anyway to upgrade a to a screen 2009 128i
Looking for absolutely any kit or way to upgrade the entertainment system to get rid of the orange screen and also preferably gain Bluetooth for music and calling as well as touch screen. I’ve seen some but they all require you to cut into the dash to put a screen on top of where the vents are sort of. Any suggestions?
