Subject: A few pictures of a BMW E9, 3.0 CSA I once owned …
submitted by /u/CJ08AAZ
I sold it in 2016 and since then it has been for a professional restoration see some before and after photos, including the day I collected it.
I bought it from a guy who owned three of them but my one had been unused for 17 years and had a few large rusty sections so it took a fair amount of welding to get it back to being useable, along with restored carbs , big end refresh , new exhaust , I also put the wrong wheels on it / lowered it something I may have done differently if I owned it today.
The company that restored it put it back to standard and looks like they did a really good job.

Subject: How do you clean your car properly?
Sounds like a stupid question but i’m actually curious what the „right“ way to wash a car is.
With my old E87 i used to drive to the car wash and choose the program with the underbody wash. Is this fine or should i do hand wash only with my F31? What is „enough“ and what is a no-go in terms of scratches on the painting?

Subject: Returning to BMW after Volvo S60 Lease Ends - Cabin Air Quality?
One thing I anticipate I will miss (and likely the only thing) coming from my ‘20 Volvo S60 to a ‘23 m340i is the advanced cabin air cleaning tech. Volvo calls this “Advanced Air Cleaner” or “CleanZone” - it’s quite nice as regardless of how polluted the air is outside, or if I’m driving behind a truck “rolling coal” I don’t smell anything at all in the cabin.
Does BMW have similar tech being leveraged in their 3 series? I assume a 7 or 8 series would have something like this, but is it common on new models and if so, what does BMW call it?

Subject: Is the E36 platform destined to hit E46 stupid prices?
So halfway through last decade the e46 M3 became a very popular bargain buy that attracted a lot of enthusiasts and DIY. Fast forward till the present and every desirable E46 is suddenly double, triple, quadruple the price.
In the last year I’ve noticed that the same thing is starting to happen with the E36 platform. I know this because I was cross shopping them a few years back and I now see crazy inflated prices.
So yeah, is the e36 platform destined to hit e46 stupid prices? If so, I’d find it mind boggling. While it has its merit, it was never any bmw enthusiasts favorite, far from it. It’s a great project car, as in, cheap to buy, fun to fix and modify. But for cheap. Who would even want to overpay for an e36 in 2022, it makes no sense
Subject: Difference between 2019 440i grand coupe and new m440i grand coupes?
Asides from the looks which is obviously much different in both the interior and exterior. Is there a difference in technology and speed/performance of the car ? I have a 2019 440i grand coupe that I love but I’m thinking about selling it to my sister at a discount since her car is trash. I’m thinking about getting the 2023 m440i grand coupe. Is there a large difference between the 2 in terms of feel and performance? I actually like the exterior looks of both the new and the old but the interior looks much better on the new imo. Any opinions are welcomed. xDrive for both models fyi, Thanks
